How are you going to round up 12 million people and deport them. Think about the logistics.

First of all, who are they. Secondly where are you going to put millions of people? How are you going to return them? What if they have children who are US citizens and are in school??

It is just not possible. There MUST be an amnesty program of some kind.
Posted by clestes at 04:24 PM : Jun 11, 2007

Absolutely 100% correct. There must be an amnesty of some kind. There must be a path to citizenship for those already here along with a more secure border to keep more from coming except via guest worker programs. this bill would have done that, but the pig-headed conservatives quashed it in favor of doing nothing. To them I say, Good Job! You accomplished not a da*mn thing!!! Millions more will continue to stream over the border and then you'll have to grant amnesty to them too someday! Congratulations because your pig-headed stubbornness is just drawing out the obvious solution even further. You're denial of the real world means even more will be here to be dealt with tomorrow. Your prize? Why not a da*nm thing.

Why don't you head back to your home world?

"First off, the "ANCHOR BABY" admendment that gives these children of liars, cheaters needs to be redone."

Oh, wouldn't you like that!! However, that amendment was passed in order to justify white anchor babies as yourself becoming Americans. Yep, how could you possibly steal land the way you did, without first being an "American"? So, the only way was to just automatically claim that if you're born here, then you're American. Now you don't like it when people of a different creed or color come along.

He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent. (Yet another lie)

He qualifies for food stamps. (Yet another lie)

He qualifies for free (no deductible, no co-pay) health care. (Yet another LIE)

He qualifies for relief from high energy bills.
(YET ANOTHER LIE, ALL THE REST LIES AS WELL)

You folks are as bad as the Nazis and their anti-Semitic propaganda. Well, in effect, you're pure ignorant racists. The fact that one of the reasons people are opposed to amnesty is because it has been claimed that they will suddenly be eligible for all these benefits when that happens. That alone should indicate how wrong you are. Quit your racist scummy lying!!

Our governor actually hosted Vicente Fox and touted our community college system as she showed him around boasting about how we now accept illegal immigrants into the college system. We have worked so hard in our state to get those community colleges up to speed now they're swamped with illegals and dumbed down to English as a second language college.

On average, low-skill immigrant households paid only $10,573 in taxes in FY 2004.Posted by coffeehead at 06:03 PM : Jun 11, 2007

Are you sure about that, because I've heard they pay absolutely no federal taxes because of so many child tax credits and EIC. I've heard many keep income under table to qualify for maximum EIC (govt.money) of $4400. So not only are they not paying taxes but getting thousands of fraudulent EIC. Why do we owe these people anything?

Saul Diaz was a penniless, unemployed, uninsured illegal alien living in Georgia when he was severely injured in a car accident. During his yearlong hospitalization, Diaz racked up $1 million in medical expenses.

Officials tried to return Diaz to Mexico after he was stabilized. But Diaz died before he could be removed.

The Gwinnett (GA.) Hospital System expects more illegal immigrants will present themselves for urgent care this year and has established a $34 million reserve to cover its outlay.

Said Paula Martin, a hospital representative:

%u201CWhen patients come in the emergency department, we do not know or ask if they are documented, we are obligated to deliver care regardless of their status. And as you know, some people do not admit to being illegally in the U.S.%u201D

nterest and other financial obligations resulting from prior government activity, including interest payments on government debt and other expenditures relating to the cost of government services pro-vided in earlier years; and

Pure public goods, which include national defense, international affairs and scientific research, and some environmental expenditures.

Entry of immigrants into the U.S. will generally not cause expenditures in these last two categories to increase, at least in the short term. Therefore, these categories are not included in the calculations on the fiscal burden imposed by low-skill immigrant households presented in this paper.

In FY 2004, low-skill immigrant households received $30,160 per household in immediate benefits and services (direct benefits, means-tested benefits, education, and population-based services). In general, low-skill immigrant households received about $10,000 more in government benefits than did the average U.S. household, largely because of the higher level of means-tested welfare benefits received by low-skill immigrant households.

In contrast, low-skill immigrant households pay less in taxes than do other households. On average, low-skill immigrant households paid only $10,573 in taxes in FY 2004. Thus, low-skill immigrant households received nearly three dollars in immediate benefits and services for each dollar in taxes paid.

they get free health care... (FALSE, they're ineligible)
Not for "free" service at thye emergency rooms.

spinning the B S!

The analysis measures the total benefits and services received by these "low-skill immigrant households" com-pared to the total taxes paid. The difference between benefits received and taxes paid represents the total resources transferred by government on behalf of this group from the rest of society.

In FY 2004, federal, state, and local expenditures combined amounted to $3.75 trillion. Government expendi-tures can be divided into six categories:

Direct benefits, which include Social Security, Medicare, and a few smaller transfer programs;

Means-tested benefits, including cash, food, housing, social services, and medical care for poor and near-poor individuals;

Public educational services, which include the governmental cost of primary, secondary, vocational, and post-secondary education;

Population-based services, which are government services made available to a general community, including police and fire protection, highways, sewers, food safety inspection, and parks.

These first four categories can be termed "immediate benefits and services." Entry of legal or illegal immigrants into the U.S. will generally cause expenditures in these categories to rise. Two additional spending categories are:

they break traffic laws and no arrest...(and so do numerous Americans - I see them do it everyday)
But, mostly when the illegals are caught, little or nothing happens to them.

their kids get free education... (their kids are US citizens per the constitution and they also pay taxes like you and I)
First off, the "ANCHOR BABY" admendment that gives these children of liars, cheaters needs to be redone. Just because some 9month pregnant female skips across the line to whelp these "citizens" doesn't mean that they should be. BTW, they use alot more services than they can ever pay back in taxes. I frankly am tired of them doing this on my dime.
and instate tuition for college...(If they chose to go to school they still have to pay the price - that's not costing America anything)

You on the other hand....

No Amnesty
Bush and the other so called leaders of both parties have not done there jobs. We, the people, want the illegal aliens to leave voluntarily or be deported. We, the people, want any person or business that hires illegal aliens heavily fined and jailed. We, the people, want our borders secured.
Email, call and write the president, your senators, and representative to let them know that we will vote them out of office if they don't represent the people.
No Amnesty

RedGTOgoat -

I agree 100%.
I just don't understand (WELL- i REALLY DO!)
but~~~

These are part of the immigration deal - today.
Why couldn't THIS have been done a LONG TIME AGO?
Why do they have to ATTACH these committments with the lead debt to taxpayers of millions of foreigners that will need massive amounts of our money? (and why isn't ONE politician addressing these costs? - not ONE word of WHO will pay for it).

This should have been done long ago - without pardoning illegal activity as a pre-requisite.

2) Strong Border Barriers: Have installed at least 200 miles of vehicle barriers, 370 miles of fencing, and 70 ground-based radar and camera towers along the southern land border of the United States, and have deployed 4 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and supporting systems;
b) It is the sense of Congress that the border security and other measures described in such subsection can be completed within 18 months of enactment, subject to the necessary appropriations.

(c) The President shall submit a report to Congress detailing the progress made in funding, appropriating, contractual agreements reached, and specific progress on each of the measures include in (a)(1)-(5):

Another Idea is a tax on corporations to pay for the services that illegal immigrants and guest workers use.

We seriously need to get some laws on the books that separate big business and government. Publicly funded campaigns would be a good start, kicking the business round table out of the White house would also help. Another good idea would be turning all those business offices on "K" street in to low income, immigrant housing.
