That's part of my point though, we're always in extraordinary times. There's no such thing as ordinary times.
My wife used to be a Princess but says she was promoted to Queen when her mom passed away. She used to be REALLY spoiled, but not so much these days. these days she has to spoil herself, so as long as she earns the money for her whims then I can't really object....too much....lol. - Reply to this comment

- Just because we are losing some of our personal freedom does not mean we have to surrender to it or to give up what we have left. We need to fight even harder to save what's left and to take what has been taken from us back. Otherwise we're all just sheep being herded around and that's not living, that's just existing.

- It is my personal position that we avoid anything close to that type of confrontation and a national ID or proof of citizenship until we get our immigration problem under control is not really an assault to democracy.

But it will not end when the immigration problem does. Once you give the government a power over you it's nearly impossible to get it back. A national ID card or proof of citizenship is against everything it means to be an American. If we go down that road then we will have already lost the freedoms we'd supposedly be protecting. There are other ways to deal with immigration and terrorism then giving into it by surrendering our rights. - Reply to this comment
- Well RandalDS, I'll argue from the standpoint of the Bulgarian I mentioned earlier. His argument is that if you don't watch out those very freedoms will work against you and into the hands of people who don't value the freedom you've fought for and your ancestors fought for. And before you know it, it's gone. Poof. right before your eyes because you my friend will be outnumbered. It is my personal position that we avoid anything close to that type of confrontation and a national ID or proof of citizenship until we get our immigration problem under control is not really an assault to democracy.

I'll fight for my country's freedoms (and in fact did during Vietnam), I'll kill for my country's freedoms and I'll die for my country's freedoms, but I will never surrender them to gutless cowards in this country or to the government that is trying to fear monger those cowards into giving them up! Never! A life without freedom is a life not worth living!
