With people like Rumsfeld vouching for him, Libby should get 30 years!

So "Scooter" Libby may squeal to get a lighter sentence. Boy or boy I'm sure that Bush and Cheney are oh so scared. NOT!! They're too arrogant to have such feelings.

Libby gonna have something to say? I don't think so. To paraphrase from the darker side of the Italian community, "you don't quit the mob". He'll do his time, good repub that he is. Then he'll retire to his country estate, his bank account overly padded, maybe write a book about the glorious years he faithfully served king and country, only to be brought down by those liberals.

"I want to see your list from the last 7years and then also a list of the repubs too for the same period ..... this is if you can ....

You won't see it, Infidel and his type like to post rhetoric not facts. They're part of the "faith based" community, not the "fact based" community.

Yea, he's going to go to jail for a long time...which is what happens in an ETHICAL congress. If he'd been a Republican 3 years ago he would have gotten a party rather than a conviction.

for those of you stating that perhaps Libby 'forgot' people that achieve high levels of position, don't forget, it takes lots of time to remeber the lies. And I say this for both d's and r's, it just seems r's apply a different level of ethisc, called hypocrisy.
the issue with the plame case is that it involved national security, paramount to treason. anyone that has held a secret clearance understands the damage that occurs with 'outing' a covert agent.

"If you had proof that Bush lied (and I'm not saying he isn't an idiot) or that Chaney is making money off Haliburtin, or Gonzales fired lawyers for political reasons (not that there's anything worng with that....it happens all the time), then I would be more than happy to sign their death warrent."

No you wouldn't, you would do exactly what all Republicans would do and have done....make excuses and try to cover it up by confusing the issue or creating a diversion.

If you really cared at all about this country you would hold the President and his staff and all members of congress to the very highest standards of decency and truthfulness regardless of their party affiliation.

Instead you act as an apopologist for an administration that is ruining the country. You decry the Dems as being nothing to but witch hunters when scandal after scandal shows up.

You know what we Dems really want, the same things you do...a governement we can be proud of and can trust. Next time you're looking in the mirror, ask yourself if you really trust this government, do you really believe them and do you really think they are acting in your best interest. If you can look youself in the eye and say those things and believe them...

===That's because all you have is heresay and speculation===

If cops had to wait for your level of "proof" before even beginning an investigation, our prisons would be empty. But for proof of Dem wrongdoing, your standards aren't quite as high, are they?

The myth of the liberal MSM is just that - a myth. The media is corporate, it prints what sells. Clinton is proof of that. You righties were right, CNN was the "Clinton News Network" - but hardly because of favoritism. Rather, because s3x sells, Bubba-Monica was on 24/7. Death and blood sell, so we have Iraq carnage. It has nothing to do with liberal or conservative.

I have yet to see any of you neocons condemn anything the Repubs do. Libby forgot, Gonzales hasn't been proven, Bush didn't lie, Cheney isn't making money off Haliburton, always an excuse for you righties.

That's because all you have is heresay and speculation. I was very glad when Cunningham was caught and taken down. As a matter of fact, I hold republicans to higher standards than I do democrats, so it REALLY hurts me when they do wrong. But if they do, and if they are convicted, I always hope they get the MAX penalty allowed by law!

If you had proof that Bush lied (and I'm not saying he isn't an idiot) or that Chaney is making money off Haliburtin, or Gonzales fired lawyers for political reasons (not that there's anything worng with that....it happens all the time), then I would be more than happy to sign their death warrent.

Face it, 80% of the MSM HATES republicans/conservatives. If there was the slightest "factual" smoking gun, they would be relentlessly crawling up their arses. But they aren't, are they. Why? Nothing there. I seriously doubt that Bush is smart enough to pull the wool over so many eyes.

Rants are out of place in a public forum, infidel_us ...

At the end of the day, Dems call a crook a crook, Repubs call a crook 'Mr. President'...

No, according to the trial, if Libby had "forgotten" all the thigns he said he did, then he would be functionally retarded. Nice try.

But we libs freely admit Jefferson is a scumbag. Why won't you ever do the same about yours? I have yet to see any of you neocons condemn anything the Repubs do. Libby forgot, Gonzales hasn't been proven, Bush didn't lie, Cheney isn't making money off Haliburton, always an excuse for you righties.

At the end of the day, all Libby did was give conflicting testimony to a grand jury.....he could have lied, but it's more likely he forgot. Would you like to see a list of democrats who have done far worse? I can produce it for you....if you like.

Libby should save his statement for his book deal. There is very little he can tell us about Bush & Co that we do not already know.

We know they are lying crooks who care nothing for the United States and the unwashed masses. Yet still, we let them keep getting us in deeper all around the world.

Not that I think Libby is innocent. In fact, I think he's guilty of a lot more than just perjury. But I think this "statement" thing is dumb. Why should what a convicted person says have anything to do with the sentence? I mean, what if a convicted person is really innocent? Are they still supposed to confess and express remorse? It puts the defendant in a "d@mned if you do, d@mned if you don't" position. The same with jurys who judge people on how they act or their emotional state. A jury will say, "well, they didn't cry so that was suspicious." Really? Why? Maybe some poeple don't get emtional the way you might. The law should be judged on the law, not "feelings".

I don't think he'll say much other than he didn't mean it hoping the judge will think he is really a nice guy and it was just a slip of the tongue and he really didn't get his orders from Bush & Co. Then I hope they nail him!
