New Orleans is the PERFECT example of the end result of the Welfare State that Lyndon B Johnson and the Dembots created for us.
Welfare enslaves people, sapping them of drive and motivation, trapping them in generational poverty and destroying family units.

- Believe it or not! After the guy was proven to have "deposited" $90k inside a freezer in his house, he was re-elected by voters from his district. Under ordinary circumstances I wait until the trial takes place before venturing judgment. But a guy that is proven to take a bribe from an FBI undercover agent and then almost all the money is found inside his freezer . . ? Come on! Put him in jail and DISQUALIFY THE VOTERS WHO RE-ELECTED HIM from ever voting again! Yes, I know. That can't be done legally. But that is what those ignoramus voters deserve.

The buses were on the front lines. However the bus drivers either left town or were flooded in their homes as well and the "front line" as you say was under water. Many of the poor who stayed behind were elderly, disabled and indigent. My brother-in-law was part of a group of men who cut holes in the roofs and pulled people from their homes. They weren't waiting for the government, they were waiting to die. Unfortunately, there are too many who privately hoped for it. In every other case since FEMA was established, help came primarily from FEMA and the National Guard. Not this time. Now you bushies want to do what you do best... blame the victims. - Reply to this comment
