John F. Kennedy donated his Presidential salary to charity.

This is not the first time Romney has done this. He took no salary as governor of Massachusetts, nor did he take one as CEO of the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Additionally, all the proceeds from his book "Turnaround" were donated to charity.
This is par for the course for Mitt Romney. Those who mistake this for pure cynical posturing are mistaken.

Re: "Then, he added: "I presume I would take the salary and then I would donate at least that amount %u2014 or more %u2014 to charity."

Right. Like the Mormon Church, perhaps?

Mr. Romney worked "for free," too, while a Massachusetts governor. But I'd support paying a president much more than the minimum salary if he/she were honest, intelligent, effective and compassionate. Let's not be enticed by people who are willing to work for free.

Romney says he will donate his presidential salary to charity if he becomes president. I wonder which "charity" he will donate his salary to; The Mormom Church? Brigham Young University? The Mormom missionary Fund?

How about donating it to Walter Reed Medical Center, or the VA?

But all this is academic. We all know that Bush has no intention of leaving the Oval Office and the only way he will leave will be feet first on a stretcher from a stroke or heart attack. There isn't going to be an election in 2008 or beyond and the Capital Building will become a museum. So will pass the US of America and enter the USSA (United Soviet States of America)!

As always, to all Republicans, neocons, Bush-babies, right-wingers, conservative Democrats, armchair generals, and warhawks everywhere:

SIG HEIL, BUSH!!!

I think he can relate to the avg. American because most Mormons are avg. Americans. They seem pretty normal to me anyway.

Just how did Romney get all this money? To be a venture capitalist, you must have money to lend at high rates to speculative ventures. Where did he get his capital?

Is he just a front man for Zion Banking and Trust, SLC, Utah?

We need to know what he is expected to do for his financers in return for the $200 mill in his bank account.

I had a friend at work, and he said he supported Hillary Clinton. I asked why, he said with a fond, infatuated smile that Bill Clinton was a good president, and smart too.

People, that's the kind of morons who are voting for Hillary Clinton. Because if in fact a vote for Hillary is really a vote for Bill, then what you are voting for is for Bill Clinton to violate the constitution by serving 3 terms ...

That's the kind of left-wing morons poised to take this country in a "new" old direction.

Like Bush, and like Clinton, they don't respect law and order or the constitution, only a kind of infatuation with personal charisma. I'll vote for either Romney or even the New York Mafia Banker Giuliani before I'll vote for Hillary Clinton, actually I'd vote for Josef Stalin before I'd vote for Hillary Clinton. She is grotesque, a leering, disgusting, grotesque masquerade clown who destroyed the Democratic party. But Democrats like to be abused, they like to be ridden, they ask for more apparently. As if the Clintons haven't done enough to their party.

It just gets better and better every day. I mean Romney believes he has a snowball chance in hell. Please with the mess the neo cons have made of the world. I mean staging rockets in Europe when none are needed because Russia is trying to save their country. Please stop these neo con morons from doing anymore damage to the world. In fact let us do away with all of the right wing religous people once and for all.

Romney lives in la-la land. Another super-rich, elite republican snob who's trying to pretend they can relate to the average American.
