President Slams Critics Who Say Plan Offers Amnesty To Illegal Immigrants

sort of like Kennedy and a lot of the other rich in office. Not only do they not have a clue--they are ensured to not need that clue as they continue to dwell in ivory towers in gated communities and shop in exclusive areas, where the only illegals wear aprons and little frilly caps or baseball caps and stay out in the gardens. But when it comes to actually LIVING with and paying for the result of their votes--why...they will leave that up to all of us. - Reply to this comment
- They should use the same system as American Idol and have people call in and cast their vote--do they support this amnesty plan (which is what any plan is that does not PUNISH the breaking of a law but in any way rewards it)
Or do they support this plan. Don't ask leading questions, don't try to parse to skew the data--just ask this question: 5K fine for being here, etc (also mention if they pay back taxes and HOW that will be figured out or proven)
Then let's see where the numbers fall. You'd think if the majority was soooo clear, that we'd do it this way OR put it on the ballot and let the voters decide. Wonder why it is not put on the ballot? Perhaps the truth is not as clear cut as polls and Bush would have us believe....notice that beside Kennedy--most dems are not talking? Notice Obama, Clinton and other Presidential candidates ABSTAINED and did not vote?
Wonder why? If a majority support this--what ever were they scared of?
The signs are clear that despite propaganda, the majority is NOT in favor--and Politicians do not want to chance this--not even most Democratic politicians. - Reply to this comment
- And just what would King George know about "courage?" This from the "man" who got Daddy to jump him to the front of the waiting list for candiates to fly soon-to-be-decomissioned jets that would never see combat in Vietnam, and who then went AWOL? King George is so detached from reality that he either does not have a clue how disastrous this legislation will prove to be to American society, or he is more interested in continuing to help his small coterie of wealthy cronies (the only ones who will benefit from this bill other than illegal aliens), Bush is the inevitable result of a person who has never had a real job, never had a real boss, and never had to be accountable to anyone. He lives in a rich-boy's fantasy play world, and has absolutely no connection with the average American other than (in his own mind) his contrived Texas twang (this from a boy who was born in Connecticut and who attended private boarding schools in the Northeast from Day One). Plus he is incapable of listening to reason, viewing logic as a personal attack. Bush is a hopeless, retarded mess, and it is perhaps the greatest tragedy this country has ever suffered that he became (and somehow remains)President.

- Bush and Congress are scared--because they don't know what will happen when they ram the 20 million or so down our collective throats.
will we just swallow, whine a little and complain? Or will the gag reflex kick in, will we projectile vomit this right back out and will they have a HUGE problem on their hands--womit everywhere, a revolt by the citizenry and possible retaliation physically as well as politically?
The fact is this is a powder keg. The polls are a psychological tool to try to convince us this is inevitable and that we should just give in--but it seems not to be working so well and though their real employers (business) tell them to push it through anyway, their ultimate employers (voters) are telling them if they do--they will not have a job anymore AND what they make we just might unmake.
Get ready--either this country will get ripped apart if this goes through or more fuel will be added to the public powder keg. - Reply to this comment
- I challenge every Senator and Representative to randomly phone 100 of their constituents today and see for themselves what the PEOPLE of AMERICA want. And then, if you can find the courage to do it, be HONEST with your findings...

- My neighbor is for it. He likes them to clean his pool and mow his 2.5 acre estate.

Is he/she willing to have a one political party country? In all likelyhood, that's what will happen.
These low wage, "never want o rise up in our society" folks will undoubtably vote democrat. From there, socialism will be right around the corner.
To me, that's not a fair exchange for having cheap laborers to clean my pool. - Reply to this comment
- Bush and Congress think Americans are herd animals and if they say the herd is going one way--that most of America will just change their minds and go that way also. They must be in shock--that no matter the odds, so many people are against this.
But imagine what they are saying: RESISTANCE IS FUTILE...GIVE IN...GIVE IN...WE CAN'T FIGHT THIS ANYWAY.
Well, President Bush--if we can't beat 12 million illegals who don't even bomb us, and we are helpless in the face of such a wave of humanity, then why in the fvck do you think we can beat 26 million people who DO bomb us, want us out of their country and will fight us back?
If we are soooo helpless, then bring our troops home and let the 160K help patrol our own borders and push back a new type of insurgency.
because the truth is...no insurgency is defeated by giving in to it. We gave in (1986) thought we were bringing in 8 million and got 14 to 16 million amnestied--then they snuck in or imported millions more. Now we have 20 million, and America wants to try the same tactic.
Bush is known for stupidity and trying dumb things over and over--but Congress?
If we are sooo short of people, instead of rewarding illegals--why not process the legal applicants? There are supposed to be millions in line that have been waiting for YEARS,
And how do illegals go to a back of a line that does not ever end? Who the hell do all 12 to 20 million get to cut in front of? - Reply to this comment

You are right. I did a similar poll in 2005 and 2006, in both instances both groups (of over a 100 people each--who I did not know) overwhelmingly did NOT want amnesty or this idea of a little fine and here they are.
I did not get 100% against though. At a university campus, at least 4 out of 12 students wanted amnesty no matter what and 2 were willing to have it with certain preconditions. The rest flat out said no way. Back in the general public, after asking at a mall, amusement park, a ballet and a concert--I got only 12 out of 100 that wanted amnesty and the rest were dead set against it.
Funnily enough, only a few hispanics and whites were for amnesty with mostly whites for it. My neighbor is for it. He likes them to clean his pool and mow his 2.5 acre estate. I have a 3.2 acre estate and hired out college kids until my hubby got his lawn mower/tractor. Now we do it ourselves--but he likes the cheap labor and he makes no bones about it--he thinks they will come here and do cheap labor and never want to rise up in society--or at least...they won't rise up to his type of job. - We already get foreign grown food. You must not do the grocery shopping in your family.

That comment was not for you or anyone like you. It is for people who put him in power, continually voted for him and still support him but somehow want to whine about this one issue or who suddenly, 7 years into H.E.L.L--with maybe over a million humans dead and millions more infiltrating our country, finally see the light. The man is a horrible and dangerous joke.
As for labor and food--I have gardens, grow most of my own veggies, have access to home grown meat and I hire only Americans to do services for me--and yes--this means if a Hispanic or someone else comes in to do a job, since I cannot confirm their status--either that company sends in someone else or they don't get the job. So far, since I relocated here (to KS) I have only had to turn down 2 jobs. One for tile setting and one for an arborists. Found good old fashioned Americans to do the work instead or did it myself. It was worth it to me. - Reply to this comment
- I don't know about all of you that post here, but I have discussed this amnesty proposal in conversation with the literally countless amounts of people I am in contact with on a daily basis, including LEGAL CITIZENS of Asian, Mexican, and African ethnicity.
I have YET to hear ONE person orally say to me they are FOR ANY form of amnesty for ILLEGALS here. This is the personal poll I have taken.
These national polls are merely government-influenced propaganda to help sway public opinion and have absolutely no merit to them.
My guess is that your self-polled assessment of this issue probably has the same outcome... - Reply to this comment
