Healthcare has long been a commodity in the United States. If you can afford it, then you can be healthy.
Is this morally right? Of course not, but it is just the way it is. - Reply to this comment

Move out of the big cities then and stop trying to find a house in the highest class section. Where i live 150 k will get you a massive house or a 4 unit apartment building. Their are older houses for 20-30k. Their is no need for you to try to buy a house in downtown san francisco(yes i know houses cost alot more then 150k). Their are plenty parts of america where the cost of living is cheap. You just need to stop complaining and find it.
and processor ......stop the annoying spamming. And bush already can acess your papp spear you had last week.
Universal healthcare is a sham btw. Just think for one second before you blindly vote for universal health care... Everything the government touches goes to ***. Their are more corrupt money grubbing b*&^tards in washington then anywhere else in the world. - Reply to this comment
- I don't think this will fly. 1) The rich control everything...tax the rich to help the poor...hahahaha. I think the rich want to tax the poor. Then there won't be a program at all. That won't fly at all. Rich Americans are only looking out for themselves. I like Obama and plan to vote democratic in the next election.

- It will never fly. The only way to have any national health care in this country is by each individual state to operate it. It should be for individuals who cannot be approved by reg health care providers, no illegal immigrants whatsoever,
children under 18, and supplementals for medicare,
and put a limit on how many doctors visits are allowed.
It would have to be rigidly run and supervised which means that it just won't work. - Reply to this comment
- Have you been impressed today with the lack of great men in politics? The so called great men of today would be pygmies and dwarfs in the days of Teddy Roosevelt or George Washington! I say this very kindly and I am not talking about any particular political party. One hundred years ago, the so called great men of today would be called "cheap politicians".
We have many ambitious young men and older men that apparently have no qualifications whatsoever of being statesmen! But we continue to call them statesmen ANYWAY because of our PRIDE! We don't want to admit that we're not producing great men.
In reality, these so called statesmen are nothing more than cleaver politicians. (Totally incompetent in their positions of leadership!)
They don't care about the poor. How long has it been since you've seen homes being built that poor people could afford to purchase? (40 years--50 years?)
Believe it or not, there was a time in the America when ANYONE could afford a home. Nowadays, people want $150,000 for a clapboard shack and $185,000 for a two bedroom, concrete block home! It's disgusting and loathing how our community has regressed to this level of degenerate character.
When these types of conditions exist in a society, it's the mark of a decadent age for that society. - Reply to this comment
- Let Obama go ahead and do this, but he better allow those of us that can pay health insurance to keep our health care providers that we have now if we don't want to join his universal health care program. Has anyone seen the state that Canada's "universal health care" system is in? The hospitals are dirty, there isn't enough Doctors. You can't even find a permanent family physician. A friend of mine was in the hospital for 5 days with a kidney stone before the "1" doctor in his city could get to him. He was put in a ward of 4 men and the guy next to him had a stomach blockage and violently threw up to where it soaked my friends bed curtain. It took 5 hrs of complaining about the smell for them to "call" in a janitorial worker to take the curtain down and replace it. During that time the nurses were just brushing up against the curtain not even caring that it was getting on them. It was so disgusting. Universal health care means that Doctor's will not get paid enough to care, so they will stop going to school and become something else. It seems like a good plan to those without health insurance, but it falls way short of the quality of care we now receive.

- Another scheme to force money out of American's pockets and into the coffers of the already rich.
How about this:
1. subsidized med school for top students, who would pay back by:
2. working for the first four years in public hospitals, funded by
3. levy sin taxes on cigarettes, liquor, gasoline, legalized marijuana, prostitution, and gambling.
4. Hospital construction maintenance, paid for by value-added taxes, and by repaid grants from big Pharma's profits on subsidized R&D, and market-value rent for companies operating on state, or federal owned land
5. Fully deductible medical expenses from income tax liability.
6. eliminate mandatory HMO membership, and all mandatory requirements to enter into policies with private, for profit insurance companies, inclusive of "no-fault" auto insurance by private companies.
7. create a "buffer fund" from fines for drug crimes, corporate and other business criminal fines, fines levied on states for not meeting federal standards for food safety, pollution, land degradation, deforestation, and water quality standards.
8. decrease military spending, and apply the savings to the buffer fund.
Effects would be felt almost immediately by the public, and requires no increase in personal income tax.
I propose answers, while the neocons and the neolibs argue semantics and avoid any really workable answers, and the truly ignorant blame illegal aliens... - Reply to this comment
