Comments on: White House Calls Carter "Irrelevant"
After Former President Bashes Bush, White House Dismisses "Sad" Comments
- Irrelevant perhaps, but no doubt the truth. With a 25% approval rating for Bush and a 9% approval rating for Darth Cheney, won't be long before it's a 0% approval rating and then maybe we can get our representatives to move for impeachment.

r came down hard on the Iraq war.
"We now have endorsed the concept of pre-emptive war where we go to war with another nation militarily, even though our own security is not directly threatened, if we want to change the regime there or if we fear that some time in the future our security might be endangered," he said. "But that's been a radical departure from all previous administration policies."

They were awarded in Vietnam for any combat wound, however slight. You could easily get that many wounds in a week.
You just proved you were never in Vietnam. You're credibility as a "Vietnam veteran" is shot. - Reply to this comment
- "...... the Swift Boaters had ever right to protest Kerry's anti-war stance..."
If that were the whole story, there wouldn't be a problem preceptions. The fact is the Seift Boaters were a bumch of reactionary political opportunistic liars assembled by Carl Rove to spread bogus lies and smear John Kerry for political gain. Only a neo-con dare to call that democratic. - Reply to this comment
- ..... the Swift Boaters had ever right to protest Kerry's anti-war stance when he came home and tossed his medals over the fence. It's called the 1st Amendment.
And one of the swift boaters got the same medal Kerry got the same day, that he and the other boaters said kerry should not have gotten. Just republican dirt as it is in all elections. You've never seen a democrat that had to steal the oval office to be able to get inside it.
It must make you feel real big when you lie and twist the truth and spin ( what a nice little bible thumper you are ) - Reply to this comment
- Irrelavant, perhaps...Absolutely 100% correct, for certain!

That was the whole basis of their opposition to him. That was it entirely.
They should have been honest about that, and not make up things about Kerry's behavior in combat, before he joined the anti-war movement. That was dishonest, and as libel and slander it is not protected under the Constitution.

- Maybe the Democrats should run Jimmy Carter again! He certainly can't be any worse than their last two presidential 'hopeless hopefuls'.
John Kerry = 3 purple hearts in a 4 month tour? Only another Viet Nam veteran, like myself, could possibly understand just how ludicrous that sounds. Never mind WHAT 'The Swifties' think of him. Kerry's anti-fellow-veteran comments were stated to a US Congress without any personal first hand experience. You try that in a court of law anywhere in this country and see how fast the judge tosses it out.
Big Al Gore who couldn't get re-elected as Senator in his home state of Tennesee, where his father was a king-boss politician.
Which brings us to the latest cast of characters?
You people on the LEFT are making this TOO EASY!

- Ony 19 months until he's irrelevant too. By then, he will have set new records for poor performance. Carter's administration is looking increasingly better.

- Is Carter or Bush worse? Who cares about Carter because he is not in office anymore. However, it is a totally different situation with Bush.
I find it interesting that so many criticize Carter for weakening our military but yet they are suddenly mute when it comes to talking about Bushs impact on it.
How about a couple of interesting points. Is it not true the Bush opposes a pay raise for military personnel? According to an article I read 20% are on food stamps. If this is true,I would think that if Bush supports the military he would be pushing for a raise to support our troops by improving moral. - Reply to this comment

- No one from the Right has yet to address ONE, not ONE of those points. Instead they attack Carter, try to make him out as some sort of person we should not listen too. It's rediculous and the MAJOR reason we're in the fix we're in.

.....dear ainttaken, when I arrived in Norfolk Virginia in 1979 people had signs in their yards that said "Dogs and sailors keep off the grass". The local clubs around ODU University had "cover charges" for military personnel but not anyone else.........then came Ronald Reagan and by the time I left Norfolk in 1982........the "signs" were gone......and there was "no cover charge" for military people going to the clubs around ODU.

Could it be that the ONLY reason that Vietnam has even survived as a country is that communism is failing globally and that Red China and Cambodia have been unable to annex Viet Nam as was once their plan? ANSWER: YES!
If Viet Nam has survived and prospered it is likely more by way indirectly of trade began by the Reagan Administration than from our GETTING OUT! GETTING OUT OF IRAQ will not be quite so neat as you Bush Bashers would like to believe.
AL QUIDA is waiting to step out. blow up and kill every free thinking Iraqui citizen as soon as our troops leave.
IRAN and Syria will divy up what's left. IRAQ will exist no more. The Israeli Nation will be in extreme peril. Gas prices will soar and all you leftie hypocrites, driving your gas guzzling SUV'S will be SOL! - Reply to this comment
