39th President Blasts The 43rd For "Endorsing" Pre-Emptive War, Abandoning Treaties And Peace Talks
- lars you are obviousl emotional about this but how was he a traitor? He worked very hard to try and get Arab states to recognize Israel and I'm sure he thought when he got Sadat and Begin to shake hands he had changed the Middle East forever. Obvioulsy that wasn't enough but if it had worked out, we wouldn't be where we are today.

- Nice edit of my words there lars :) You obviously dislike him and thats fine. But you can't blame his attack on Bush on either his age or his (in your mind) incontenence. :)

Obviously, this 'rule' does not apply to illegitimate pResidents that seize power by way of election fraud.

you mean that worthless propoganda politicized prize they gave to yasser arafat...
hahahahaha
It is convenient for liberals and fascist nazi Islamic muslims to forget that the "Grand Mufti of Jerusalem" went to Germany as a guest of Hitler during WWII...and begged Hitler to find the "final solution" to the jewish problem. This same Grand mufti used his influence to raise Two Muslim SS Divisions in Yugoslavia (Kosovo) and Albaina. These divisions were responsible for the murder of almost 1 Million jews, Serbs and Gypsies.
This same Grand Mufti was the maternal uncle of Yassir Arafat! The Mufti's war continues today worldwide.

- Peoples memories of days gone by, when did "tent city" in Houston take place? What years were bonds yielding 12% to 14%? What years was the US the closet that it has ever been to the great depression?Economics 101 sorry everyone that failed that course but the economy of a nation is not determined by who is president. I am not a defender of Bush but the recession that took place in 2001 was predicted by the federal reserve and several leading economist. The point is that the economy like it or not during Carters term was not robust, however the economy during Reagans first fours years was closer to the great depression. The tax cuts that Reagan gave out did not have a effect until around 1985 with growth expanding in 1987 only to fall again. The robust economy we all enjoyed during the Clinton years was not the result of Clinton. The argument on economics of Carter is not even close to reality as Carter like all presidents do not control the economy.

- Thank you former president Carter for saying what most Americans have been thinking since this war began. It doesn't matter what polital party you are afiliated with, this war on Iraq has been a mistake and George W has gone too far to quit or turn around now. He's stuck in the mire of his aggression and he doesn't have the decency to stopped no matter how much it cost in American human lives or the American economy. Ge W is the worst president America has ever had in office.

- thanks to Carter's airline deregulation .... out of the 15+ airlines that existed prior to carter's airline REFORM, only one major US airline survived intact. ...salute Carter with the middle finger! Posted by Jebby_One at 12:49 PM : May 20, 2007

So you blame Carter for all the airlines that every went out of business. Your stupidity never ceases to amaze me!
Businesses come and businesses go. Airlines are businesses. Why don't you name some other businesses that no longer exist or were bought out by another business. - Reply to this comment

Carter came down hard on the Iraq war.
"We now have endorsed the concept of pre-emptive war where we go to war with another nation militarily, even though our own security is not directly threatened, if we want to change the regime there or if we fear that some time in the future our security might be endangered," he said. "But that's been a radical departure from all previous administration policies."

- Appeal for Redress
Sign this Appeal.
This site is an Appeal For Redress in support of our mission in Iraq.
An Appeal For Redress is an authorized means for active duty military to submit a grievance to Congress. It can be signed by Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard military personnel.
It is authorized by DoD Directive 1325.6 and DoD Directive 7050.6.
The wording of the Appeal for Redress is:
As an American currently serving my nation in uniform, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to fully support our mission in Iraq and halt any calls for retreat. I also respectfully urge my political leaders to actively oppose media efforts which embolden my enemy while demoralizing American support at home. The War in Iraq is a necessary and just effort to bring freedom to the Middle East and protect America from further attack.
If you are active duty, reservist or national guard, please Sign this Appeal.
Most service members fully support the war in Iraq and feel calls to retreat by Congress and attacks by our media on our conduct and mission act to motivate our enemy while demoralizing our support at home, directly increasing the threat we face and resulting in greater American casualties. This Appeal for Redress provides a way in which individual service members can appeal to Congress to fully support us and actively oppose media attacks on our mission and our morale.
This Appeal will be delivered to members of Congress.

- Jimmy inherited a crappy economy and didn't handle it well (and yes I'm old enough to remember). The botched rescue attempt of the hostages in Iran also was a disaster. I will say I found it suspicious then (and still do) that Iran released the hostages on the same day, and almost to the hour, of Reagan's inauguation, particularly considering the later Iran-Contra affair.
Regardless of that, I think Carter has easily been the best ex-president we have ever had. He has been far more effective out of office than he was in it. - Reply to this comment
