The sky is falling? I wouldn't say that. Things are quite good in my life - or am I supposed to be more concerned about yours. Take off the left wing leash and think for yourself. - Reply to this comment

- Shrub the Dumbnificent, Darth Cheney and Alberto Gonzo are starting to make me wish we had Nixon and his cronnies back in office.....I wish we had more Democrats in Congress so there could be a reasonable chance of getting Shrub and Cheney impeached. It's a really, really sad state of Union and it just keeps getting worse.

Please, defend Gonzales' actions on this one.. i'd be interested to see how it was OK to do this latest reported act. Or, are you saying that this is all made up? Please advise at your earliest convenience.

The point is you seem to be denying the seriousness of the government's incompetence and untrustworthyness. They are fools dragging the US into the toilet. That isnt funny. - Reply to this comment

- So, let's see.. Gonzales does this for Bush... Ashcroft moves UP... Gonzales becomes chief law enforcement official in the land. HMM... Harriet Myers (around the same time this all allegedly took place) gets nominated to the Supreme Court? HMM... maybe SHE had something to do with this too?? being Bush's lawyer 'n all. The JUDICIARY is NOT SUPPOSED TO BE FOR CRONIES! IT's INDEPENDANT of the politics of the WHITE HOUSE. Doesn't anyone SEE what is going on? Yes, 70% of you do... the other 30% though, *** are you thinking?!?!

- It never fails - everytime I think that Bush and his can sink no lower down into the sewer there they go proving me wrong yet again - Gonzalez himself raced off to try and get a critically ill, semi-conscious Ashcroft to sign on the dotted line.
Chuck Hagel is right- Gonazlez has no credibility and is a hinderance to the nation - if he had an ounce of decency he'd resign for the good of the AG office, the government and the nation. But then again, he's an inside-Bush guy - they have no decency, morals, ethics or values - that's what makes them George's Inner Circle.

- Is there any doubt remaining that Mr. Gonzales has done a reprehensible job as Attorney General? Is he the best the United States has to offer?

- President Bush's : No-warrant - wiretapping program.
If you understand :
"Intimidation and Blackmail"
You will understand the real issues of :
No-warrant - Wiretapping program.
Remember :
The relationship between :
Foley and the Congressional Page.
18years old - 3 years = 15 Years Old
The Justice Department :
Had full knowledge, for three years.
The Justice Department - Said - Did -
"Nothing"
That "Page" being placed in the path of : "Foley"
Was - By no means a : "Coincidence"
This type of activity, has been going on for decades.

- I have traveled overseas or worked with foreigners here a lot over the last three decades. Never until this administration was I ashamed of what my government stood for. I could be embarrassed over Clinton's Monica, over Reagan's poor grip of history, over Nixon's tricks, etc. but I would firmly argue with anyone what America's Government basically stood for.
That is no longer the case and it grieves me greatly. When this man rejected Greece's free offer of a cruise ship to house homeless Katrina victims, then rented two high-priced cruise ships from a campaign contributor we didn't flinch. Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc. - I could obviously go on page after page of Americans turning blind eyes to what would have been scandals a generation ago.
So don't blame it all on Bush: fool us once, shame on you. Fool me twice (or many times), shame on us. - Reply to this comment
- Where again was the outrage over Clinton's 'echelon' program???

- [It's truly amazing how this administration fails to learn from the past, and how W. appears to be sleepwalking towards a place beside Nixon in the hall of shame. Both Republicans, both shamelessly manipulative and both apparently stubborn and tone deaf ... Why do people vote for these losers ?]

and they're both 'authoritarian' personalities ... this explains their actions and their perspective.
for a complete analysis (of the manipulators and the manipulated) see john dean's new book 'conservatives without conscience' ... great stuff. - Reply to this comment
