- Gonzales' popularity could go up again. All he has to do is resume doing press briefings in front of that naked statue in the Justice Department lobby.

- This Administration is without a doubt the most sleazy and corrupt in US History. Add to the the absolute INCOMPETENCE of the Commander in Chief and you have the bottom, the absolute worst we have ever had.

- Bush will never give up on Gonzales. Not only does Gonzales know where all the bodies are buried, he probably helped off a few and dug the graves himself. When someone has the goods on you--then you keep them very close indeed.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,
All the King's horses and all the King's men,
Couldn't put Humpty together again... - Reply to this comment

- "The financial realities of college-age children and two decades of public service lead me to a long overdue transition in my career," McNulty said in the letter, which did not mention the firings controversy.
Yes, it's always about the money, isn't it? If a high-ranking government official can't afford to send his kids to college, where does that leave the rest of us?
It's good that he's leaving. Let someone else share the "privilege" of having a high-paying government job with all its "perks." And when enough people desert Gonzo, maybe he will get the picture and resign. But I doubt it. - Reply to this comment
- Maybe he'll get the job running Chrysler. That would be poetic justice.
