superchez1:
As long as we keep fighting our wars in other people's yards, and never experience the horror firsthand in our own cities-- we will never realize the full horror of what we do, never respect life and never stop before deciding others should DIE for what we believe.

WE can moralize and police the world after we clean up our own issues of racism, hatred, mass killings, corruption, drug problems, poverty, illieteracy, etc. Based on the way we "help " other countries--nobody wants our "help" anytime soon. WE are the case where the cure is worse than the disease. You can masturbate your conscience to justify the blood on our hands--but not one of those Iraqi people asked to be a martyr for a cause imposed on them by OUTSIDE meddlers. Between 1 million and 650K MORE Iraqis who managed to survive during Saddam are dead because of us and we did not even belong there. I do not believe in any war that attacks people who have not attacked us--because reasons are like azzholes--everyone has one and everyone is bound to blame the smell coming from their own on somebody else.

www.911revisited.com - the buildings were not brought down by planes alone, especially WTC7 which wasn't hit by a plane - explosives were used and it's obvious when watching ALL the footage from various angles - so, it begs the question: who planted the explosives and when ?

9/11 was allowed to happen and augmented for maximum effect so the "powers" that be could move forward with their imperialist agenda.

we've been fed the corporate myth of 9/11 for five years and people are finally starting to wake up.

9/11 Mysteries is another excellent documentary exposing the cover-up:

"...can appeal to Congress to fully support us and actively oppose media attacks on our mission and our morale..."

Courage without intelligence is more dangerous than cowardice.

lars008: Our first priority should be self-defense from these fascists, so why is it that conservatives have enacted the insanely costly Iraq war when it has not aided national security and rather has multiplied terror worldwide? The terrorists are already invading the US now regardless of Iraq's future. We should focus now on real homeland security instead of just waving the banner to no avail in a foriegn nation. Bush is just playing into Al-queda's hands with the distraction.
And superchez1: when we were looking for Bin Laden (yeah right), why would it have been practical for us to crush a secular government for humanitarian reasons when we had major problems dealing with Al-Queda? And don't give me that WMD of Al-Queda link stuff. Those were blatant lies told by the administration that have been well demonstrated to be false. P.S. You conservatives are the ones who are really degrading our chance of success, us liberals abhor your slanderous and immature, decietful comments of working for the enemy, when we seem to be the only ones looking for a rational, intelligent solution.

Toldyouso21 we went into Iraq not just because we thought there were WMDs but because this man was committing genicide Saddam was prsonally responsible for the death of over 2.5 million people. Posted by superchez1 at 01:08 PM : May 10, 2007

sorry--I was NEVER a fair weather supporter of this war and the reasons given may have included Saddam's dictatorship but that is a LIE and you know it. Congress would never have given permission to go to war for "regime change" Imminent threat had to be demonstrated--hence the WMD BS. Cheney and Rumsfeld in the late 1980s after the gassing of the Kurds--DEFENDED Saddam and readily admitted to providing the WP that was part of the arsenal fired at the Kurds. Saddam's actions did not become "deplorable" until we learned he was planning to tie his oil prices to the Euro instead of the dollar which would have been disasterous for us. WE just fed exed bombs to Israel so that they could kill over 1200 Men women and children to punish Lebanon for housing Hamas--who were guilty of kidnapping 2 Israeli soldiers. So much for morality.
Where are we in Dafur? In Nigeria? Right. Our sympathy and morality seems to be very convenient and only pops up when money is to be made. You are a hypocrite or you are very ignorant--take your pick--both are pathetic.

Moderate Republicans up for reelection in 2008 are "very anxious to get this thing over with," says CBSNews.com Senior Political Editor Vaughn Ververs. "They're going to start defecting %u2014 and Democrats are just waiting for that to happen."

Politicians worried about losing elections.

That's all.

superchez1,

We ARE NOT the moral police for the world. There is already an institution for that - the United Nations. Stop trying to justify the U.S. invading Iraq.

Appeal for Redress
Sign this Appeal.
This site is an Appeal For Redress in support of our mission in Iraq.
An Appeal For Redress is an authorized means for active duty military to submit a grievance to Congress. It can be signed by Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard military personnel.
It is authorized by DoD Directive 1325.6 and DoD Directive 7050.6.
The wording of the Appeal for Redress is:
As an American currently serving my nation in uniform, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to fully support our mission in Iraq and halt any calls for retreat. I also respectfully urge my political leaders to actively oppose media efforts which embolden my enemy while demoralizing American support at home. The War in Iraq is a necessary and just effort to bring freedom to the Middle East and protect America from further attack.
If you are active duty, reservist or national guard, please Sign this Appeal.
Most service members fully support the war in Iraq and feel calls to retreat by Congress and attacks by our media on our conduct and mission act to motivate our enemy while demoralizing our support at home, directly increasing the threat we face and resulting in greater American casualties. This Appeal for Redress provides a way in which individual service members can appeal to Congress to fully support us and actively oppose media attacks on our mission and our morale.
This Appeal will be delivered to members of Congress.

The Iraq War is/was a war of CHOICE by the Bushies.

Non-revisionist History will always remind us of that. But of course the Republicons will always try to revise the history of the 1994-2008 era.

the demonic-rats are useful idiots to fascist nazi islam...

Leftist Support of Islamist Terror
Most shocking is the outright sympathy of many leftist-liberals for Islamic fascism. They said little about the murder of 500 Russian civilians, many of them children, but screamed week after week because some Arab savage at Abu Ghraib prison wore a bag on his head. They cared nothing about the beheadings committed by the Islamo-savages or the execution of 12 Nepalese. David Horowitz gives an excellent discussion of who this "Left" really is. He calls them neo-communist, I call them Leftist-Liberals. I'm a classical Liberal myself and I feel it's time to remove this irrational element that has been allowed to poison our good name.

(cont.)

We can't keep interfering in other peoples' business, invading and conquering nations which never attacked us, and generally throwing our (increasingly obese) weight around without earning the well-deserved hatred of others.

When we went into Afghanistan and sought cooperation with Pakistan in fighting terror, we did the right thing, and the world applauded. In Iraq, we have made a colossal blunder of arrogant stupidity and greed, and are breeding enemies faster than we can kill them.

Even our friends the Israelis have told us that the Iraq war is making terror worse. According to Mossad, it has multiplied the number of terrorists in the world by 5, creating 10,000 new recruits for Al Qaeda alone. Last year alone, terror attacks increased 25%.

This war is creating terror, Bush knows it, and yet he will not admit his error. American troops are dying to make the problem worse. This man must go.

Bush and Chaney are secret members of the Jihadist. Oh, Oh. The secret is out. By keeping American troops in Iraq, and adding more all the time, they will deplete our homeland defenses (a joke) so that the Jihadist have an easier time of completing their objective. The Mission for Bush is, and always has been, the ruination of America. You, Georgie, went AWOL becuase it was just too tough, and now that defeatist attitude follows your every move, That is why it was so easy for you to join those that are trying to conquer America. I accuse you of TREASON.

'Maybe Americans are too quick to go to war because they love so much to win, to kick ***, to be number one.
Well, it's been quite a while now since we're won a war, about 60 years, and instead of getting rich and becoming the world's greatest power, as we did through WWII, we are now bankrupt and hated by the world - not that it was this war that did all of that, but it was the same underlying attitude that did it.
Maybe we should stop and think about things for a while. We're bankrupt, polluted, overpopulated, we hate each other, we're lazy and stupid, we're arrogant and pushy. We're not all that great.

Sadly, the truest post of the day. And we are sensitive about it to boot; to the point that we would rather create and fight an external enemy to try to make ourselves feel better than honestly work together to improve the country as a whole.

cfin5 mentioned the schoolyard bully earlier, but didn't seem to realize that in fact the US is the big kid beating up on the little kids. Eventually, the little kids will gang up on the bully.

The outcome is known. There will be no perciptible progress in Iraq in the forseeable future. More Americans will keep dying there. More money will be spent there in a sink hole. Everyone knows that the generals will be grasping for words to explain the progress come September. We are going to see inventive words from now on to explain progress where it is not perceptible. Al Quida will be found at every street corner, for example. More "cells" will be found in the USA with Al Quida/Iraq connection. Brace yourself, the game is about to begin.

Go. Quickly and sign up for the military. Specifically ask to be deployed in Iraq. If you are too old, take copies of your posts and prove you are capable of working as a propagandists in Iraq--for Bush and the cause. They will have you write your messages--and then have Iraqis translate it into Arabic and pretend like it is from the 'people'. Do this now, before we are successful in bringing the troops home.

BTW. You should insist on being outside of the Green Zone. Don't worry--you are so holy---that your 'god' will protect you from the IEDs with your name on them. Good luck and may you get all that is coming to you.

*** & George have absolutely zero credibility in the world at this point. We squandered a chance to unify the world after 9/11 by invading Iraq. We simply cannot afford to micro-manage Middle-Eastern affairs. Solution: Secure the borders, no more visas, no more flight school, no more anybody flies anywhere, no more refugees, no more hiding behind "the nation of Islam", no more prisoners, and if you're prosecuting a war, name your enemy and mow him down! Then come home, and let's grow a lot of corn!
