Gates should exercise caution. Several senior generals have found themselves retired after attempting to steer our Iraq military policy in a saner direction. Honesty, integrity and competence don't lead to long careers in the pentagon during this administration.

Iraq's parliament might make more progress on the legislation Gates referred to if they passed up their 2 month vacation and worked on it while our troops continue dying in their country's civil war. Sec. Gates might want to talk to some of our retired generals. Many of them retired shortly after they tried to lead our Iraq military policy in a sensible direction.

You have all been NeoConned!
The Iraq oil invasion was planned before Bu$hCo cic 9/11. Big Bucks was the reason.

"British defense contractor BAE Systems Plc (BA.L) moved to expand its share of the lucrative U.S. military market on Monday with a $4.1 billion deal to buy body armor and Army truck maker Armor Holdings Inc. (NYSE:AH - news).
The deal is the second multibillion-dollar U.S. purchase in two years for BAE, which is now the No. 8 supplier in the world's biggest military market. Two years ago, BAE bought United Defense Industries, maker of Bradley fighting vehicles, for $4.2 billion."

It ain't ending soon, either...

If you believe the Iraq invasion will end soon, you have been NEOCONned. This is such big business, and there are so many players, it could go on for years. Consider the deal of the day:

"British defense contractor BAE Systems Plc (BA.L) moved to expand its share of the lucrative U.S. military market on Monday with a $4.1 billion deal to buy body armor and Army truck maker Armor Holdings Inc.
The deal is the second multibillion-dollar U.S. purchase in two years for BAE, which is now the No. 8 supplier in the world's biggest military market. Two years ago, BAE bought United Defense Industries, maker of Bradley fighting vehicles, for $4.2 billion."

...and the BLEEP goes on.

I say, bring the Federal Gov to a stand still until little "w" is forced to put some kind of measurable indicators of success to justify the outrageouse cost of this folly. What kind of a "leader" waists the best military force in the world and spends his country into insurmountable debt without gaining some kind of achievement? Can anyone out there come up with one single accomplishment from this administration?
