Gates should exercise caution. Several senior generals have found themselves retired after attempting to steer our Iraq military policy in a saner direction. Honesty, integrity and competence don't lead to long careers in the pentagon during this administration.

Iraq's parliament might make more progress on the legislation Gates referred to if they passed up their 2 month vacation and worked on it while our troops continue dying in their country's civil war. Sec. Gates might want to talk to some of our retired generals. Many of them retired shortly after they tried to lead our Iraq military policy in a sensible direction.

You have all been NeoConned!
The Iraq oil invasion was planned before Bu$hCo cic 9/11. Big Bucks was the reason.

"British defense contractor BAE Systems Plc (BA.L) moved to expand its share of the lucrative U.S. military market on Monday with a $4.1 billion deal to buy body armor and Army truck maker Armor Holdings Inc. (NYSE:AH - news).
The deal is the second multibillion-dollar U.S. purchase in two years for BAE, which is now the No. 8 supplier in the world's biggest military market. Two years ago, BAE bought United Defense Industries, maker of Bradley fighting vehicles, for $4.2 billion."

It ain't ending soon, either...

If you believe the Iraq invasion will end soon, you have been NEOCONned. This is such big business, and there are so many players, it could go on for years. Consider the deal of the day:

"British defense contractor BAE Systems Plc (BA.L) moved to expand its share of the lucrative U.S. military market on Monday with a $4.1 billion deal to buy body armor and Army truck maker Armor Holdings Inc.

...and the BLEEP goes on.

Do you think it is good for the country or bad for the country that the Democratic party is in control of Congress?

Nov 19 67% 24%
Dec 17 61% 32%
Jan 11 58% 30%
Mar 11 59% 29%
May 6 51% 37%

I say, bring the Federal Gov to a stand still until little "w" is forced to put some kind of measurable indicators of success to justify the outrageouse cost of this folly. What kind of a "leader" waists the best military force in the world and spends his country into insurmountable debt without gaining some kind of achievement? Can anyone out there come up with one single accomplishment from this administration?

More than half of the members of Iraq's parliament rejected for the first time on Tuesday the continuing occupation of their country. The US media ignored the story.

Just deauthorize the war. Congress was lied to, there were no WMDs and that is the end of it. You would have to have the votes to override a veto, but no one could say you did not support the troops by withholding funding. You refuse to support an illegal war, based on lies perpetrated by an idiotic and insane so called president.

Just shows bush does not, nor has he ever, had any respect for our troops. Neocons rarely ever think about our troops, the ones doing the actual fighting. They are the only onesmaking sacrifices.
They get legs blown off. Bush tells us to go shopping.
They get killed in cross-fire in the growing civil war. Bush pushes for tax cuts for the wealthy.
They have to scrounge for junk metal to protect themselves. Bush vetos spending and any ray of hope of getting out of this raging ******** any time in teh next 2 years.
Why do we have a man who so obviously hates what this country stands for, running our country.
Why do neocons and the rightwing hate America so much?

Appears to me that Bush is going for an 18% approval rating. I know he doesn't "rule by poll" but I will LMFAO when he drops below 20%. By summers end, I expect!

What is president Bush's definition of compromise? From what I can see, his definition must be: 'Everyone else has to completely agree with I want to do, and I always get my way without concessions because I should rightly be the king!' Face it, America made the worst decision at the polls it ever has in 2004. I remember thinking to myself the day after the election: How stupid are the majority of Americans? So to the consevatives of America, I thank you, for all the wasted money, devastated foriegn relations, horrid domestic policy, and especially all the young American lives lost in Iraq; all of this because our president doesn't want to change xourse because it would 'make him look bad'. Thank you republicans!
