lestb35,

And as long as ANY contender, Democrat or Republican, panders to their 'base', no one WILL be tough enough.

Time for politicians to stop running for popularity contests, and start doing the jobs they are supposed to do, not photo-shopping for votes, or saying whatever the current faces in front of them want to hear.

As far as I see it, no one stepping up to run for president right now has what it takes in this current day and age to do what needs to be done without worrying about what the polls say their popularity rating is.

fairandbal,

So, I guess people like Rice, Gonzales, and all the miorities represented in the current government don't represent America either?

How many top-level positions have the Democrats filled with minorities in the last 40 years put together?

Answer: Less than this current President has.

None of them are tough enough for the task ahead.

fairandbal,

Name one of the Democrat presidential candidates whose net worth is under $100,000.

beep, times up. They are ALL rich, with net worths at $1,000,000 or more apiece. So, how can ANY of them, Democrat or Republican, represent all Americans?

Notice how the original story called them 'wannabes' instead of contenders?

Bet that term wasn't used to describe the Democratic debate participants.

A refreshing group of NON-GOOSESTEPPING-TO-THE LEFTISTS, NON - SOCIALIST, TOUGH ON TERRORISM candidates talking about what they'd do if elected President. Much better than the love-fest of the other night.

So Romney comes out and attacks Fitzgerald for getting a jury to convict Libby...looks like we can look forward to more treasonous acts of outing CIA operatives and then firing prosecutors to obstruct justice under the Romney administration. Maybe the prophet of the cult Romney subscribes to will have a vision and the good old days of polygamy will be restored too.

It's real clear by looking at this picture how much the GOP does NOT represent America. The only candidates i see are rich white males.
It's no surprise that the GOP panders so much then to the super rich and cares nothing about most of America.

Only General would be Clark, but he is a dem, if he is running. I would support him, though.

He is running but not having any success in raising funds or attracting a base.

I didn't see the debate, but it would be hard for the next president to be a bigger lying, incompetent, jacka$$ than the one we are stuck with now.

A former general and a diplomat would be a ideal combination but where can they be found at this stage in the campaign?

I'm leaning toward McCain because he has the most experience and he's a serious man and we're facing serious issues. But none of them inspire alot of confidence.

We do live in serious times with multiple threats not just militarily but also economically. McCain has lost the trust of the America people from various incidents. His policy towards Iraq do not show any new direction. A former general and a diplomat would be a ideal combination but where can they be found at this stage in the campaign?

I feel a bit of a fool now, like I say, I suppose I should have kept my nose out.

However, compared to our dreary politicians, who are so gray and boring, Mr. Romney seemed exciting and glamorous.

But you have certainly made me think. Thank you Sir.

I will vote the candidate, Dem or Rep, who does not drag their religion into this election. I am so sick of hearing about their Hypocritical faith. If they claim to be a "true Christian", I do not want themas president.
Why? Because as the leader of the USA, he or she will have to make very Un-Christian decisions. They will have to order the death of thousands of people, possibly.
I don't want a freaking boy scout, and I don't need someone to lie and say what a good and devout christian they are.
I just wish a real candidate would step up. Someone who will say "Listen, my religion is my own *** business. It is private, personal, and has no bearing on how I run this country. Stay out of my faith and I won't stick my nose in yours. If elected, I promise to make decisions that will kill people. I will break commandents and disobey the teachings of Jesus. All for the better of this country."

The only way Amercia will produce candiates of honor is to remove the factors that create the dishonor in politicians. Campaign finance reform where the funding is done soley by the citizens of this nation. No more lobbyist allowed to talk with candiates or elected officials non televised, etc.
