Last Soldier To See Tillman Alive: "I Was Ordered Not To Tell" His Brother
- jebby,
It was Lt. Col. Bailey who undermined Bush by adding to the pack of lies surrounding this war. Go ahead and keep blaming the Democrats and liberals for your failings. Yoou aren't fooling anyone other than your rapidly dwindling gang of fellow travelers. - Reply to this comment
- That Jessica Lynch has been and is a class act throughout this whole ordeal. I admire her. She has more class and guts than most of the generals who used her as a posterchild.

- " ... Typical Nazi! You don't have the first idea what these people are about... to someone like Tillman and his family, HONESTY is the basis for life itself. You sling mud at those who wanted to be told the truth ..."
Oh, no mud ... if there's gonna be honesty then it has to be 100% in both directions, unless you only believe in partial honesty.
What I've read from those propelling this story implies or says that Tillman was a perfect and flawless soldier that never made a mistake, that he was a victim to incompetent leadership at every level of the command, etc., etc. Before that will fly we probably need a a little more evidence.
If Tillman was super-soldier then he should have been promoted to general and put in charge. So what's the truth about what kind of soldier he was?
Two of the stories I read claim that it was tillman's patrol that first fired on a friendly position and the fire was returned, and Tillman tried to then stop the exchange but it was too late.
Who knows what happened that day? Regardless, some want to use this incident to undermine President Bush. So, I guess the American people will find out who Tillman was, really, and what happened that day. - Reply to this comment
- A fish rots from the head down. For the past six years we've had nothing but lies, flawed intelligence, faulty intelligence, massive intelligence failures, and most of all, a ruthless partisan spin machine that thinks the American public is so full of idiots they'll believe anything. I guess they're logic is if they were dumb enough to vote for Cheney and Rove, you can tell them anything. WMD's, etc..
Hopefully this political atmosphere of lies and corruption will end soon. - Reply to this comment
- He KNEW the Truth and refused to allow it out because he didn't want people to know how this man's life ended AND he didn't want the people to KNOW that this man, who showed so much courage, did NOT support the LIE that was Iraq. God but you people are slimy and disgusting... the very worst. Sieg Heil.

-When Late Tillman death was proclaimed as heroic sacrifice in the field defending the land of freedom, and inviting every young kid to join in the Army, we saw all the chicken-hawks proclaiming high and hard, that Americans had to give souls in order to liberate that land belonging to Afghanis from Taliban. What a great duty to do. We did not see the senario behind the scene. We did not see the theft and killing prepared, by the chicken hawks. Rubbing their hands for more of the American legally and hardly earned tax money. We saw the SickRick-likened people boasting their pride to belong to this nation, without us, being unpatriotic. Grabbing exclusively the fake GOP-Patriotism that belong to all of us, Americans. - Reply to this comment

- Honestly clemenhagen this was funny and typical,
"They undermine the war against Terror so they can politically profit"
Iraq....terror, um no but good try. That was Osama. Where is he? And 15 of the hijackers came from where?
Politically profit? Um, Haliburton.
Now for the big question..If we were invaded, what would you do? If the answer is fight, you are way more a hypocrit than even I think you are.
Good try, now go back to limbaugh and get your fix. Just like Manson's followers and Koresh's followers. - Reply to this comment

I guess the truth has different values according to one's political ideology. It's little wonder that a Bush supporters would hold it in such low regard.
It was a cover-up. Finding the truth in no way diminishes what Lynch and Tillman sacrificed. The war supporters will be forced to fall back on weak attempts to attack those who are seeking the truth and those who tell it.
Again, the trust and confidence in the White House and the Pentagon is shaken. - Reply to this comment

- Were you in the Nazis army? I spent 10 years in the US military with a mix of active and reserve duty and was never asked to lie, and can't imagine a commander doing so.

I am a Combat Vet and I know as well as any other Vet knows that this man is telling the TRUTH... even the Commander who TOLD him to lie doesn't dispute it. Yet YOU, being the Nazi you are, you come on here trying to spin it like these people are the villian's. You SPARKY are no Combat Vet that's for sure. You wouldn't have lasted 20 minutes in Nam before you were fragged. We didn't like Nazi's and most vets agree with us. Sieg Heil - Reply to this comment
- but it looks like we'll find out a lot about Tillman, and all the people who teamed up to give him an honorable sendoff may no longer have the incentive or inclination to peserve Tillman's honor.

Typical Nazi! You don't have the first idea what these people are about... to someone like Tillman and his family, HONESTY is the basis for life itself. You sling mud at those who wanted to be told the truth about their son and let it pass for the slime dog a FEW and I do mean a few, call a President. He KNEW the Truth and refused to allow it out because he didn't want people to know how this man's life ended AND he didn't want the people to KNOW that this man, who showed so much courage, did NOT support the LIE that was Iraq. God but you people are slimy and disgusting... the very worst. Sieg Heil. - Reply to this comment

Actually, Americans demand the truth, and justice.
Neo-commies, and coincidentally the Republican Party, don't care about stuff like that.
ST
"Republicans are in a unique historical position. They are the first group of people raised on this land, who call themselves Americans, that openly proclaim the virtues of torture, secret prisons, extra judicial abduction, universal surveillance, and dictatorial government."

- First, the men and women that are presently in action are the best the USA has. They deserve NOTHING but The BEST OF OUR SUPPORT! That said President Bush is no good and as far as I'm concerned a Dodger OF His Own Combat when it was HIS's TIME TO SERVE! HE ALONG WITH CLINTON ARE A DISGRACE TO EVERY MILITARY PERSON THAT IS SERVING AND HAS SERVED. I AM A DISABLED VET OF THE VEITNAM CONFLICT. Do friendly fire incidents happen, yes in every war. But not every President tries to use it for their personal gain. THAT'S THE BIG DIFFERANCE! This same president and his puppet's are trying to screw the same Veterans when they come home to get the proper Care and Disability ratingsfrom the VA.WHY, BECAUSE IT COST TO MUCH MONEY! BUT BUSH CAN TAKE CARE AND LINE THE POCKETS OF THE THE BLOOD THIRSTY CORPORATE THIEVES!

- "Honesty will be found on every experiment, to be the best and only true policy; let us then as a Nation be just."
George Washington, Circular letter to the States, June 14, 1783
"It is of great importance to set a resolution, not to be shaken, never to tell an untruth. There is no vice so mean, so pitiful, so contemptible; and he who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world's believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good disposition."
Thomas Jefferson, letter to Peter Carr, August 19, 1785
"And then there was the President Who Cried Wolf, five hundred times."
