Robert H. Jackson, US Supreme Court Justice and Lead US Prosecutor at Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunals:

"A basic provision of the Charter is that to plan, prepare, initiate, or wage a war of aggression, or a war in violation of international treaties, agreements, and assurances, or to conspire or participate in a common plan to do so, is a crime."

(the UN Charter is a treaty)

. . .

"Our position is that whatever grievances a nation may have, however objectionable it finds the status quo, aggressive warfare is illegal means for settling those grievances or for altering those conditions."

The US led invasion was a war crime.

"In Iraq, only our enemies were cheering"

John...that would be the Iraqi people cheering. Yes, they all hate us. If you don't know why they hate us, you're not bright enough to be a President.

Whenever we leave, however we leave, all Iraq will cheer. Get over it. Your side messed up big.

And mbcsmith, Saddam did kill bunches of people, that wasn't the reason Bush lied about our reason to go. It was WMDS!!!!! There weren't any.

Not one nut job has the ability to try and spin the facts to place blame as all nut jobs do about everything they've done.

For sake of future of Iraq, US troupes should not leave at this point for argument sake let us say.

Why did US invaded a sovereign nation and Mr. Collin Powel said if you break it you are going to fix it and he had also mentioned 300,000 to 500,000 Army are required to fix it. Why do not US seek UN leadership and Russia, China, India and so many Sunnie, Shia countries were ready to send Army under UN leadership. At that time people were told "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED". Under UN one cannot give no bid contracts to Halliburton right ? Was that reason UN is not given leadership ? Just think over. Lie after lie, mistake after mistake and follow the money route, one will understand.

Like some body mentioned "CIVIL WAR ACCOMPLISHED". Our brave men, women and Iraqis are losing lives and you know who is benefiting out of all this.

As for the world being better or safer, at least 1 small part of that world and its people would disagree with you and they are in a better position to KNOW what they are talking about--the people of Iraq. Many feel things were better under Saddam. At least back then the murders were organized and most people could adopt means to avoid it--now it is free for all carnage courtesy of the US busybody brigade and the neo con ******* hawks.

So your bleeding heart would rather have "organized" murders rather than an opportunity to live in freedom. WOW!

The invasion of Iraq was a war crime (as defined by the Nuremberg Tribunals), it was and is not a "just war."

Please cite a specific article of the Nurenburg Trials that indicates this to be a war crime.

Hussein BROKE the treaty that ended the first Gulf War. He defied seventeen U.N. resolutions. He was responsible for the deaths of over a million. He sponsored terrorists. He used chemical weapons and had the knowledge to reinstate his weapons program.
Any LIB out there that doesn't think he deserved to be deposed and that the world is a safer place without him needs to think again.

How many treaties, conventions and resolutions has America broken? We gave Saddam the WP and the helicopters he used to gas the Kurds plus Rumsfeld and Cheney defended Saddam at the time of the gassings. We used WP on humans in Fallujah 2004, we violated the Geneva Conventions and the UN pact of nonagression against a sovereign land. We have a WMD program including biological weapons. Saddam was bad, but the people in Dafur are worse.

There is no provision in international or constitutional law for "deposing dictators."

There is no provision in the UN Charter or any relevant UN resolution that authorized deposing Saddam Hussein.

The invasion of Iraq was a war crime (as defined by the Nuremberg Tribunals), it was and is not a "just war."
