Comments on: Democrats Cool On Bush Offer Of Iraq Talks
Top Leaders Wary Because President Won't Negotiate On Troop Withdrawal Deadline
- Why doesnt anyone talk about the most obvious issue? That Demoncraps refusal to compromise deomonstrate nothing more than proof that thier agenda has nothing to do with the peoples business,
Its all about the almighty self importance of the party!! Socialism at its finest!! - Reply to this comment
- bush you have a chance to fund the troops so they can fight the terrorist, you know the people that work in shops, car salesman, street sweepers, women that take in clothes to wash, mechanics, beggars on the street, you know all the terrorist.
Now just sign the bill so the troops will have what they need, if you don't it will clearly show America and the rest of the world that you don't care about the troops and never have.
Show everybody it's about your arrogance and greed for you and your cronies. - Reply to this comment
- %u201CThe president wants a blank check and the Democrats won't give it to him.%u201D
Bush's steadfast refusal of the above stated fact proves that he is, indeed, out of touch with reality.
He believes that all must bend to his will. Our constitution provides us protection from just such a megalomaniacal president whether he chooses to accept the fact or not, fortunately. - Reply to this comment
- Why would the Democratic leadership agree to a meeting with the president when he states up front that there will be no negotiation? That's not going to be a "talk with" the president - that's going to be a "lecture from" the president.
I hope they tell him there's a new congress in town - one that he has to negotiate with. - Reply to this comment
- The dems need to let georgie boy know that this is the only bill he will get sign it or veto it. Veto it and they have to cut off the funding completely! SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! BRING THEM HOME!

- This is exactly to show his "policy" to both domestic parties and international. Nobody can compromise with him, he only follow what he thought, similar to dictator style. He is very smart to use the word "Terrorist" to give an illusion and pollute our mind. We saw what it is happening in Iraq, 3200+ American kids were dead, so, imagine how many Iraqi family broke, orphans (5 millions as report), and anger are building in Iraq. We, tax-payers paid money there (probably the gas $ up is a reason = gas sales tax to gov.), and turn out to get more people unhappy about us. What are we doing there! Mr. President, please safe us and the world.

I have seen stories right here on CBS that said that the Surge appeared to be working at one point in the past, that casualties were down, that the deadliest type of insurgent explosive was being eliminated, etc.
Didn't you see those stories ?
Or is your mind preprogrammed to regurgitate ready-made hand-me-down cliches about the press ? - Reply to this comment
- The beautiful thing about this war Bush bashers -the average Iraqi now has a snowball's chance, where as before they had NO CHANCE.

- The Press is a fountain of information for the enemy:
The Press are not the blame for almost 3300 American Kids killed in Iraq. Theres only one person to blame for their deaths, THAT'S G. W. BUSH........
Doom and Gloom news, are the true events taking place everyday in Iraq. The news media, are only reporting the truth. One can only look to the recent statements by (Bush #2) John McCain who said he did not need arm guards on his stroll down the streets of Baghdad. Then says Americans are out of touch. Dughhhhhhhhhhhh. - Reply to this comment
- What an arrogant little chimp Bush is. He's is a sick man and needs to be stopped. The only reason he wants this talk is to make it look like he tried to play nice when all it is is BS. He wants to blame the Dem for his failures. He's a con man!

- "The president said if lawmakers don't send him a bill he will sign %u2014 one that does not include timetables or money for pet projects in their home districts %u2014 it would be Congress, not the White House, that will have to answer to troops."
Try as he might, Dubya will never succeed in wiping the blood of American servicemen off his hands.
Bush is keeping the war going to save face. That is the first, last, and only reason now.
Saving his own face. - Reply to this comment
- "Unless you just want to be divisisve"
Divisive.
Bush basically said, "Lets talk, as long as you agree in advance to rubberstamp my (failed) policies in Iraq."
It's a waste of time to talk on that basis. - Reply to this comment
- "Democrats Cool On Bush Offer Of Iraq Talks"
It was not a good faith offer by Bush.
"My way or the highway" is not the way to invite anyone to discuss a complex and controversial issue like this. Unless you just want to be divisisve as h*ell (like Cheney going on the Rush Limbaugh show.)
"All options are on the table" - one of Dubya's favorite phrases - should have been his approach.
He owes it to the American people not to take this "It's My Party And I'll Cry If I Want To" approach. - Reply to this comment
- " WORLDS GREATEST CZAR "
Some time ago, a reporter asked Bush what books he had read recently. One of the books that Bush said he had read, was "The Worlds Greatest Czar". At the time I thought his answer was FUNNY, but now, Bush, wants to appoint a " WAR CZAR ". I have not stopped laughing since I read this mornings headlines. Appearently three of the top Generals that Bush, wanted for the position, has turned down the offer. I guess the all find it funny also?
I thought we already had a WAR CZAR ? Isn't that Sec. of Defense, Robert Gates, job? - Reply to this comment
