"U.S. military spokesman Rear Adm. Mark Fox said two suicide vests were found unexploded Saturday in the Green Zone, less than a week after a rocket attack killed two Americans in the vast central Baghdad district where the U.S. and British embassies and key offices of the Iraqi government are located."

Hmmmmm, sounds safe to me.

Can't wait for tourist season.

Sen. John McCain responded . . . by saying "We can have IRAQ to repay us with their OIL".

Posted by Simplemind2 at 09:29 PM : Apr 01, 2007

That was one of the primary selling points used by the Bush administration when they began beating the drums for war. They also claimed Iraqis would greet US forces as liberators and hostilities wouldn't last six months. Which have all been lies. Not to mention the original lie about WMD's.

The fact is US & UK forces invaded Iraq because UN sanctions were about to be lifted. And, US & UK oil companies were prohibited from doing business in Iraq by Saddam Hussein. Rather than have the sanctions lifted under Saddam, the US & UK chose to invade and directly take over Iraq's oil and gas fields.

Any other story is pure propaganda invented by ExxonMobil's and British Petroleum's public relations departments.

ExxonMobil & British Petroleum (et al) are directly responsible for every life lost and (taxpayer) dollar wasted in their hostile takeover of Iraqi oil and gas fields.

George Bush & Tony Blair are puppets dancing on ExxonMobil and BP's strings. Neither is a leader, both are spineless puppets dancing for their masters.

As is John Bush Bootlicker McCain.

good point, Conservative Christian is a contradiction in terms, an oxymoron. No wonder there's no consistent thought to W's fans.

This is bad news for the Democrats. Taking sides with the enemy is going to hurt them in 08.

It's clear Rove is now feeding McCain his lines just like he has been Bush all these years. No Neo-con appears capable of telling the truth or speaking for themselves.

i have to wonder why. we know bush is capable of the dirtiest campaign tactics, maybe he is behind McCain's collapse.

Could be right. Maybe the slime master Rove has something on him and is puling his puppet strings? Black mail would be one of the more minor crimes the Bush crime family is capable of.

Randal, i beg to differ. i think his broken demeanor is because he knows he's thrown his presidential future out the window.

Agreed. I always knew McCain was a con, but he did, from time to time, stand up for what is right. No more. He is obviously blinded by his desire for the White House.

I don't say that just because I disagree with him. Unlike the cons I can still respect those who have views different from my own. America is ready to turn its back on the cons and McCain will not be able to fool anyone that he doesn't stand with them.

81 US troops dead Mr. McCain. Some progress.

His ambition has blinded him to our dead and dying and wounded troops. He used to care about such things, but he has shown that he no longer cares as much about our troops dying as he cares about sitting in the Oval Office as president. If he had any shame left he'd shut up and drop out of the race with his head hung low.
