I'm glad the president invited all those repub. congressmen to stand behind him in a show of unity. It's like the captain of the Titanic inviting all the rich white men on board to stand behind him as his ship cruised to the bottom of the North Atlantic. In fact, I want a list of all the congressmen that showed up so I can put a name to our pain.

If the 'surge' is supposed to be able to show it's progress by this summer, or this fall at the latest, why all the fuss about pulling out next year some time? Everything should be peachy-hunky-dory by then anyway right? And, hey, if all the 'bad-guys' are going to lay low waiting for our pull-out date, then we should be able to come home even earlier - say by the holiday season - because there'll obviously be no violence in the interim...

"They're mandating failure here," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said of Democrats.

No Dana, they're demanding that the obvious failure be admitted and corrected. BIG difference.

the SurrenderCrats have momentarily succeeded and are patting themselves on the back (they'll never over-ride a veto though, sorry NeoCommies)

The only thing missing in the picture is a bottle of french wine, some brie, and a beret.

"'We expect the Congress to be wise about how they spend the people's money,' [Bush] said."

That's just about the funniest thing I've read in a week. What a hypocrite.

I really hope this is the beginning of the end of King George's illegal war in Iraq.
