Deadlines give the terrorsits hope and that is the last thing that they need right now as we are slowly but surely hunting them down and killing them.

Is that why in the last 6 years over 230,000 have died as the result of Islamic extremeist?
200,000, Darfur, 20,000 Thailand, 3000 USA, 7000 remainder of the world.

This doesn't really seem to be much of a news article. It narrowly passed and will die a quick death at the Presidents desk as it should since he is the Commander in Chief. Kind of a waste of time. I always thought that when a job that needed to be done was undertaken, it should not be left until fully complete. The original terrorist sympathetic IRAQI govt. has been successfully overthrown and a democratic government is now taking hold. Deadlines give the terrorsits hope and that is the last thing that they need right now as we are slowly but surely hunting them down and killing them.

In my book, they are all responsible. But Washington is so good at passing the buck, one party will blame it on the other. We end up with crooks from either party regardless in the end.

One of the many reasons we need a third party, that represents the people of the US not corporations. Make public campaign finance the only way that they can run a campaign.

Wayfedup,

Look, they (all) oversaw the intelligence institutions. Why weren't questions asked beforehand?

A week or so before the war, Sen. Biden was over in Northern Iraq hiding out with some Kurds waiting for the start of the war. He had the fever, They all had the fever.

In my book, they are all responsible. But Washington is so good at passing the buck, one party will blame it on the other. We end up with crooks from either party regardless in the end.

Remember, just about each and everyone of these guys (dems & cons) gave him the power to do what he has done, ranging from the Patriot act to invading Iraq. They are the ones who made this mess. The way I see it, they are just as equally responsible.

Bush/Cheney LIED to them just as he LIED to US. They didn't have VALID information to make a good decision with, and there was an urgency to RESPOND to the events of 9-11! Who would have believed back then that at a time such as this, OUR OWN PRESIDENT WOULD HAVE LIED?

wayfedup,

I didn't. Also, I am not going to allow myself to get worked up about something (i) we have no control over.

There are some in the world that have always hated us and always will.

There are far more people and governments who love us when we live up to our principles and hate it when we don't.They believe in our principles and hate the way we say 1 thing and do another.

People notice when we change course. Most of the world was with us in Afghanistan and will be with us again if we live up to our potential and change the destuctive course that we're on.

Adlai Stevenson said "Our strength lies not in our military armaments alone, but in our principles and their universal appeal to all men struggling to breathe free."

Other than in the spiritual realm, there's nothing that the world wants more than a "government of the people, by the people, and for the people that shall not perish from the earth." Most people know if it permanently perishes here they could lose it or perhaps never see it where they live.

Good night fellow patriots. Please continue the good fight to defeat the fascist Bush administration. Their impeachment and trials are near, as is the restoration of The Constitution of the United States of America, and rule of law, to this great land.

"He is a man DERANGED, he is a man DELUSIONAL, he is a man OBSESSED."

If you can prove that, then you might have something to stand on.

but until then and as is stands, he has more power than either the Senate or the House of Reps..

And he knows it.

Its party line politics.

How many more of Bush's failed plans should Americans have to suffer before we put a stop to the madness and come to the realization that Bush doesn't know what he's doing and never did?

This is all part of the process. This will certainly get vetoed but Bush is on notice now and do not think that he will not change his behavior. If he doesn't, his fellow Republicans will join with the Democrats to force him to follow the Constitution and give Congress a say. Those that cry about this are apparently against our form of government? Because this is how it is supposed to function.

"ST, I'm afraid the WHOLE LOT of them are nothing but SNAKES! Bush has hopefully dealt the REPUBLICAN PARTY a FATAL BLOW. Yes, I agree we need two or even MORE parties in this country, as long as NONE of them are REPUBLICONS!"
wayfedup

Unfortunately, this is mostly true. And I agree, if we could have more than two viable parties it would be far better, I would like to see three or four.

Of course, when I was talking about the Republicans I wasn't talking about the current fascists, I was speaking of the possibility that any loyal American Republicans left might reclaim their party and once again mold themselves after the party of Lincoln and conventional conservatism. But you are probably right, they may have to change their name no matter what.

But we do need at least two parties, watching each other if only for political reasons, to keep corruption from becoming even more rampant than it is today.

Of course there is one way to virtually wipe out most political corruption overnight - public financing of campaigns, and strict laws against lobbying, which is simply legalized bribery.
