I can understand, I guess, a loaded gun.

But two additional magazines, too?

What was Webb planning for, a shootout with the Capitol Police?

We should insist on a public hearing, with sworn testimony...and transcripts! (like the Democrats).

...Oh...make no doubt about it.......someone is in big trouble.......I guess if we were to act like the Dems we should demand for Mr. Webb to resign!........ you know have the same type of "Hollywood acting fit" that the Dems rountinely do and then their close pals in our corrupt MSM wolfpack give them enough air time until they get their wish.....

Here's a guy that has a very "checkered past" not to mention his thoughts and treatment of woman.........BUT he was the Washington's Post boy..........so he got the great stories and Allen got you know what......remember for the POST the candidate that has a "D" after their name carries the "most" weight regardless of his shady past......

"To our knowledge, this incident was an oversight."

--Statement from the office of Sen. Jim Webb

I suppose THIS is the "oversight" that the new Democrat Congress had in mind!

truthword - I agree - totally unacceptable - and it was more than just irresponsible to be walking around with an unregistered, unlicensed fire arm - and especially into US Gov't buildings such as the Senate offices.

But it does put lie to the neocons' assertions that dems hate guns!!!

If it was Webb's gun, then Webb needs to take the heat for it.

Particularly interesting, considering that the Democrats are the ones pushing the gun ban in D.C...

I guess the Democrats want to make the rules, and then exempt themselves from those rules.

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, both already under siege for other matters, are now being accused of failing to prosecute officers of the Texas Youth Commission after a Texas Ranger investigation documented that guards and administrators were sexually abusing the institution's minor boy inmates.

Among the charges in the Texas Ranger report were that administrators would rouse boys from their sleep for the purpose of conducting all-night *** parties.

Also see do an internet search for the Franklin Affair and you'll see this is common practice among the Bush Crime Syndicate home of NAMBLA. How much are people going to put up with????

Actually Pakaal it works the other way around, I've commented on several stories in the past that started out with a message board only to have my comments deleted and the entire message board erased shortly afterwards. The mass media, senate, and congress continues to aid and abet the international CRIME SYNDICATE known as the Bush Crime Family. While both parties in congress and the senate have been aiding and abetting these fugitives for the last 7 years the american people have been doing their own investigating and the damning evidence is all over the internets, on sites like video.google.com and youtube.com, we aren't stupid...

dallison7, many times CBS will enable comments later - I'd check back on it later today or tomorrow. As for this story, I don't know about "non issue" considering the guy was carrying an unregistered (in other words illegally acquired) weapon, nor did he have a permit to carry a firearm. Frankly, walking around Congress with an unregistered firearm is unacceptable behavior. Memebers of Congress - and their aides - should be at least as law-abiding as the average Joe (though that's not often the case). Webb should probably ask him to resign.

It may have been Webb's gun. Other reports mention that the gun was in a bag, and it is possible that Webb gave him the bag to carry in, without remembering there was a gun in it. After all, Congressmen and Senators are allowed to carry weapons on the Hill.

As I am sure he will. However, we the people of the United States of America, with the help of our duly elected congress, are on the verge of uncovering, disrupting and prosecuting the most corrupt group of criminals that have ever infiltrated our government. The REAL news items of the time are serious and, if any topic should be made available for discussion, it is that corruption. This is not the first time a congressional aide has done something stupid... it is a diversion.

What was the crime? Oh, I get it; the unregistered ammunition. There must have been concern that being unregistered it might side with the GOP.
