As to your question, considering this case is in the hands of the Justice Department - which is still firmly in the Republican grasp - perhaps you should ask THEM why they're not moving on this. As long as Jefferson isn't willing to resign (despite Dem calls for that), we're stuck with "Dollar Bill".

As for your statement that media is focused on Republicans (he says, commenting on a story that focuses on a Democrat), as folks seem so quick to forget, the media was focused on the Dems before they were booted out of the majority a decade-plus ago. Why? Because they were corrupt. Well, it's 2007 and it's now the Republicans who are corrupt, so that's who the news are focused on. Pretty logical, really.

Webb nows says he didn't give him the weapon.

Hmm .. so how did the aide get a gun owned by Webb? Has someone informed Webb that he was not to erase any telephone messages or e-mail correspondence?

Geez, some of you folks need to calm down. How does an incident like this get blown inot a political *** for tat that is a republican and democratic issue. Here is the truth plain and simple. This aid is a trusted and loyal staffer to Jim webb by his own words. Webb gave the weapon to him while the aid drove him to the airport. Guess it was a good thing Webb remembered the gun and not accidentally go through airport security with it. Otherwise according to some of you folks we would have WWIII on our hands. The aid forgot it was in his breifcase when he re-entered the senate building. Thats all is it folks. Its not a national incident.GET OVER IT !!!!!!!!

"If Jim Webb(D) were a Republican, here's how Democrats would act:

Democrats would demand investigations, issue subpeonas, and then race towards any news camera to demand hearings and impeachment proceedings.

BUT, since he's a Democrat, "it's just an oversight"

Yeah, cause having a low level staffer accidentally bring a gun in to the Senate is JUST LIKE having the Attorney General repeatedly and intentionally lie to the American public.

What's wrong with you people.

Iceman, not clinton, you know the Democratic congressman who the FBI caught with 100,000 cash in his freezer, you know bribe money. The fact you didn't know only proves my point.

I knew about him. Louisiana, wasn't it ?

The media covered it.

I thought you meant Clinton.

I thought the conservatives wanted to re-arm DC? Or is it just street punks who should have the right to bear arms?

This may have been an innocent oversight, or perhaps, a Democratic plot on the life of Mitch Mcconnell. If webb claims Senatorial privilege and pleads the 5th we'll never know. So, with so much less important issues in the news-by all means conservatives...get to the bottom of this! Who knows , you might find out who killed Vince Foster, too!

If you want an example of media covering up and /or slanting stories adverse to their political leanings, check out WorldNetDaily.com and Newmax.com.

I assume you mean William Jefferson Clinton.

Please tell us the media tried to cover up Monicagate and the assorted allegations. We could all use a good laugh. Tell us how they hardly ever mentioned it.

(e.g. NBC sure wasn't pulling their weight in the coverup when they assigned a well known foe of the Clintons, reporter Lisa Myers, to interview Juanita Broaddrick on prime time TV.)
