- Of course, the Democrats will still be blaming Bush until 2016, probably, long after he's no longer President.

LOL--the Democrats can argue that the Republicans set a precedent for blaming absent/past Presidents for present circumstances. Right?
This is why one should treat people the way they want to be treated. You never know when the worm will turn--and then all those goodies of wire tapping, errant DOJ, torture, etc may be in the hands of people you never intended. Rules are for everyone--and broken rules are due to be abused by everyone--remember that if a Democrat gets the whitehouse and Congress.....a knife always cuts both ways--which is why we do not accept different standards depending on Party---or at least we didn't until now. - Reply to this comment

This will be a sticking point for Bush. By maintaining that the White House was not involved in the firing (and therefore none of Bush's conversations should be at risk) Bush has actually nullified his greatest defense for "executive privilege"
If nothing to do with the white house or national security was discussed, then the administration should not get in the way of people testifying under oath about the DOJ firings--after all, if the executive was not involved, then where is the need for "executive privilege?" Gee, you just proved your stupidity.
The first WTC bombing happened in 93 - just after Clinton became President (similar to GW Bush).
But it did NOT happen in his last 5 years.
The USS Cole incident happened in 2000 - but NOT in the US.
Other terrorist incidents have happened against the US - just not "in" the US during GW Bush's reign of terror (approx 8).
And you will note, that my question to you was fairly explicit:
"Regardless, can you name one terrorist attack that happened in the US during Clinton's last 5 years as President?"
But, you did prove just how stupid you really are. - Reply to this comment
- It's True we don't have any great Republican candidates either. But they're nowhere near as bad as the 3 losers you guys came up with. I see a dark future for us all. I guess I'll just have to use the Democrat tactic and blame Reid and Pelosi for everything during the next cycle. Of course, the Democrats will still be blaming Bush until 2016, probably, long after he's no longer President.

That, and "in the US" see? those are the fine points. Are you learning yet? and you think you took him apart? Sort of like Bush being sure his party would prevail in Nov 2006? RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT. - Reply to this comment

- The white house has forgotten that Congress is supposed to be a co-equal branch of government, not subservients. Oversight and investigations are duties of Congress even though that was lacking while the rep leadership made them AWOL in performing those duties.
Bush's legal advice about exec. privilege has been as bad as the advice of neo-con political hacks about Iraq and limits on his power. Freddo Gonzales stopped disclosure of bush's drunk driving arrest before his election as governor, but his legal reasoning just doesn't reach the level of his loyalty. The Supreme Court said there's no absolute privilege. Most Constitutional law experts agree that executive privilege applies only to communications involving the president, but that communications among staff without the president aren't subject to privilege. The privilege is more certain when the subject is national security, followed by military and diplomatic topics. Once the president agrees to let staff members discuss it with Congress, privilege is waived. Neither side wants a definitive ruling because it would permanently shift power to the advantage of one of the branches and discourage compromise. Bush needs to stop being the decider and start being the negotiator as befits the head of one branch of government, not the ruler. - Reply to this comment

don't apologize for his stupidity when your own is so glaring. Reading comprehension is NOT your strong point. The WTC bombing happened when
clinton had been in office less than 1 Month. You should have paid closer attention to the phrasing. also the USS Cole was NOT in the US though we can consider it our domain as one of our ships.
The fine point. You Republicans always get skewered by the fine points. No wonder you eschew intellectual discourse and put someone like Bush in charge--you people do not do subtlety or nuance do you? - Reply to this comment
