Bush Blasts Democrats After House Passes Bill Setting Deadline For Troop Withdrawal
- beenthere61. Question? Who in Iraq has ever planned and carried out any attack against this nation? Who in Iraq has ever even threatened any attack against this nation? The people who did all that are in ANOTHER Country, which is what the Democrats and most sane American's want to do here. They want our military and money going to fight the Taliban and Bin Laden, you do remember them don't you?

- There just isn't any support for this Civil War in this nation. Once the People saw they were being lied to and that the Nation of Iraq had nothing to do with any attack on us, they wanted Bush to change direction. He did not now he finds himself alone out there. What does he do? He throws one of his little Nazi Tantrums. Honestly folks this Warped Fascist isn't dealing with a full deck.

- We can still support our allies such as Israel without putting their interest over that of our own country. This is something American Politicians have not understood! It is not in Americas interest to attack Iran or to stay in Iraq!
If you follow the money trail you will find that most of those elected officials who support the war in Iraq are under the influence of AIPAC.

Now here is the real kicker! President Bush is funding Al Qaeda in Lebanon with funds from Iraq! This is Impeachment and Treason! Here is the proof Read it!

- It has occurred to me that although Dubya continues to tell the American people that his goal is to bring democracy to Iraq... he has no idea what democracy is.
I wonder how it must feel to use words when you don't know the definition.
When the Chimp says the word 'democracy', in his mind does it sound like 'gorglesnorp'? - Reply to this comment
- "The American people have lost faith in the president's conduct of this war," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. "The American people see the reality of the war, the president does not."
I must confess that I am not a fan of Nancy Pelosi. Neither do I agree with her positions on the war in Iraq. However, the statement above is as accurate and astute an analysis as any that I have ever read on the war and the position of the President.
The President waited three years to acknowledge that Iraq was not going well. This despite the fact that legislators visiting the country, media agencies reporting on the situation and his own Generals on the ground were telling the administration otherwise.
The President is in denial. He is in denial about the fact that Iraq has been an unwise and costly misadventure. He has been in denial about the fact that his strategies for success have only resulted in failure. He has been in denial about the fact that, because of his bulnders, Iran is now more influential in Iraq that we are.
Love her or hate her, Speaker Pelosi has got this one absolutely right. - Reply to this comment
- Those 212 that voted against the bill to bring our troops home and end a failed war that Bush started because his daddy was humiliated by Saddam Husein should be sent to Iraq along with Bush and Cheney. Let them fight a losing battle.

Excellent post. I am continually astonished that people do not pause for thought at the dizzying array of "rationales" for going to war in Iraq. We seem to have heard them all: weapons of mass distruction, spreading democracy, preventing another 9/11, tackling islamic terrorism. The "rationales" are used independently, interchangeably and in tandem. It is keystone cops on a grand scale and would be laughable if it were not so truly tragic.
Yet it seems almost as if some are prepared to believe anything no matter have far-fetched, no matter how contradictory, no matter how baseless, no matter how contrived. But that is desperation for you.
People who are desperate to believe anything are undeserving of any right to know the truth. - Reply to this comment

- Dubya - Democrats staging an "Act of political theater."
Isn't that what the GOP & the Bush Administration have been doing all along?
Of course for Dubya, this incident is just a speed bump on his agenda roadway. But the problem is that for the 1st time in over 6 years, he's going to be encountering a lot more of those bumps not because Democrats have suddenly developed a spine but because the electorate will continue to keep pressuring Congress for change. - Reply to this comment
- "The Iraq war is about preventing another 9/11 type attack by installing democratic governments in the Middle East."
Posted by Tank611
This was a purely ad hoc, after the fact rationalization when no WMDs worthy of the name were found (nothing was found in Iraq that couldn't also be found in Finland or Sri Lanka), and the bloody, unforseen insurgency erupted.
Use your brain. Do you think for one second that if Bush had said from the beginning, "OK, I want to go over to the Middle East and start installing democratic governments," that the Congress would have given him the authorization to use force to do it ?
He and his pals just came up with that, after the other rationalizations failed.
It was just a variation on the excuses they used to avoid trouble as kids... "I have a stomach ache, I can't go to school today"... "The dog ate my homework"... etc. - Reply to this comment

- I liked Bill Maher's line on his show when he said that the Bush people screw up so often that now he just downloads this weeks scandal to his Ipod so he can read about their last ****k up on his way into work.
Bush has screwed things up so bad, both here and are the world, that the best thing he could do is just to shut the fu*ck up and go on permanent vacation to Texas. If he actually really was a patriotic American like he claims, he'd leave the White House in a heartbeat and let the grown-ups get to work cleaning up all of the sh*it he's spread around. Just like every other time he's fu*cked up in his life. - Reply to this comment

- Bushbots have permanent brain damage, they don't seem to realize Bill Clinton hasn't been in office for over SIX years, and that "Liberals" have been the minority in all three branches of government up until three months ago.
We're 3 trillion dollars deeper in debt, affordable housing is a pipe dream for most American families, record oil prices with record profits for big oil and we're fighting an imaginary "War on Terror" against a faceless, nameless enemy that's about as winnable as the "War on Crime", legalized torture is accepted, warrantless wiretaps no big deal, holding people without charge for years with no hearing is legal now, secret prisons no big deal...who in their right mind could support such things? - Reply to this comment
