People think those opposed to nukes are whacko liberal hippees. But the truth is, many military people realize just how useless a nuke is to a legitimate country. Lord Mountbatten, Admiral of the Fleet said this in 1979:

Dems took control of Congress because the citizens of the USA got fed up with the lies, incompetence and corruption of the Republicans... and it was less a wholesale endorsement of how the Dems were talking than it was a total rejection of anything that sounded like the non-stop bullsh!t that the Republicans had been pumping out for six years.

Why should they turn on the taps? The oil companies are making record profits. Why stop the gravy train? Notice how those gas price decreases to $2 just before the election suddenly disappeared now and we are back to $3? Nothing like the oil companies trying to help Repubs and keep their huge tax breaks. So, it has nothing to do with supply and demand.

In other words, it IS an oil war. But not to open up the taps. It's to keep them turned OFF and Iraqi oil off the market. Less oil means higher prices.

The reason Dems got back in control of Congress in the first place is to do exactly what they are doing now - OVERSIGHT. It's not like people didn't know what was going to happen if Dems won. This is exactly what they were expecting Dems to do. Americans were sick of the arrogance of the GOP and Bush and the only way the GOP is getting back in control is if the Dems do nothing to stop Bush.
