Calif. Governor Later Called In To Conservative Commentator's Radio Show To Make Nice
- Count how many straw men rush creates. He's done a number on the term 'liberal' that makes Joe McCarthy look like an amateur.
And don't forget, Reagan was a Blacklisting McCarthy-ite, and rush LOVES Reagan. So he's only once removed from that anti-rights embarrassment. How did we let this happen again, people? - Reply to this comment
- Yborangel: Limbaugh has certainly fueled the divide in our country's political arena...
I'll second this point, it's not for nothing that he's referred to as Hate Radio. I listened to him for years, thinking he was a good motivational speaker, but with his Clinton obsession, i just couldnt take his rages.
The big point is that he and his ilk have divided our country ONLY as a way to make a buck. i think they are all reprihensible.
Rush in particular will tell you how much of loser he was before his radio career. the big difference now is he knows how to engender bigotry and hatred as an entertainment, but he still has no crediblity. if you think he does, you're the susceptible minority. the rest of us can hear how ugly he is. - Reply to this comment
- He is obviously on some serious drugs. I listened to rush for a few minutes today, I swear, I've never heard anyone, not even him, talking faster than he is now.
I liken the people that adorn him like Manson's followers or Koresh's or James Jones followers.

- DRINKING GAME
Rush Limbaugh mentions the Clintons within 60 seconds of tuning in. Don't believe me? Then let%u2019s play a drinking game. Take a drink every time Bill or Hillary is mentioned, starting in the first minute (two drinks if both are mentioned). You could set up your own rules to this game, but if you add the word "liberals" to the mix, then you might as well forget it because you'll be under the table long before his show is finished! - Reply to this comment
- Rush would probably be much more mellow if he had the Governator's universal health care plan paying for his prescription drug addiction. See, can't we all just get along? :)

- Are you then saying that Franken on Air America is doing his show pro bono? ...

------
Al Franken's last day on Air America was February 14th, so that he could run to reclaim Paul Wellstone's Senate seat from Norm Colman in Minnesota. Franken was replaced by Thom Hartmann.
Now a few of you knuckleheads bring up that Rush Limbaugh has the number 1 talk show in the country. While that may be true, his audience has dwindled since the Clinton years.
And on the criticism of Air America: As a young fledgling network (It signed on March 31, 2004), it is still growing its audience and Mark Green has built a coalition of investors which have brought it to financial stability. And remember, Rush Limbaugh was on the air for 4 or 5 years before anyone noticed his show, and he needed Bill Clinton to kick around for his audience to grow.
We need radio to have both left and right in talk so we may have a dialogue, rather than just a right-sided diatribe.
I would like to challenge the Rush Limbaugh fans to tune in to Thom Hartmann for one week. You may actually learn something about our founding fathers%u2019 vision and the U.S. Constitution.
Is Limbaugh irrelevant? More and more as time goes on. - Reply to this comment

Are you then saying that Franken on Air America is doing his show pro bono? Is Gore when he does speaking engagements giving all his money to fight global warming? People making money is not evil. Liberals and Conservatives do it and them point at each other and say their money is "bad". The joy of being truly moderate is being able to jab sacred cows on both sides of the fence. - Reply to this comment

- Limbaugh is about making money...the more muck he rakes, the better his ratings, the better his ratings, the more he can charge advertisers. I suspect he will say anything that will create a buzz within his created "uberconservative" persona (which seems to be somewhat at odds with his personal life.........).

- bigsk8fan, you are a joke to compare Wahington, Lincoln & Jesus as Liberals. In today's society, I can assure you they's all be Republicans (gee, Lincoln WAS, wasn't he?) and they'd also be conservatives today. You are a typical liberal joke as you can't think nor make an intelligent comment without your liberal hate thinking involved. The proof in the pudding is to read these blogs and anyone will see where the hate comes from. It's definitely NOT from the conservative side......

- Why anyone would put stock in stupid ramblings & spin by a overpaid and obviously exercise-challenged drug addict is totally baffling to the rational mind.

- Rush irrelevant? Then why all the press coverage and why did the Governor call in to his show today?
Love him or hate him, he's certainly doesn't seem to be irrelevant. - Reply to this comment
- Kennedy is just a drunk. All the Kennedy men who were worth a *** have already been killed. Teddy should have retired about 20 years ago after his failed presidential run. I try to pay him as little mind as I can. That of course doesn't excuse Rush from his perscription drug follies.

Take a moment and think about your posts. Any actual thoughts you're trying to get across are being lost in the rhetoric. - Reply to this comment
- Limbaugh is a doper--once a junkie, always a junkie--who apparently has erectile anxiety as well. Pretty well describes your typical neocon--tighty, whitey, and righty.

Is that how you feel about the Kennedy's, or do they get a pass b/c they're libs? - Reply to this comment
- Most talk show hosts (Rush, Franken, O'Reilly, Rhoades et al) are irrelavent. They are like the talking head pundits that are giving spin on Sunday morning. Would you really want any of them in office more than 20 minutes? No. The reason why is the country would take a radical and unwise shift to whichever side they were on. The far left and the far right maybe represent 20% of this country. The rest of the country is pretty much looking for leaders who can think and lead from the center.

- Of course he's irrelevant and always has been. His supposed "power" has always been an overblown myth. The only person he's ever really been important to is himself and a group of people to stupid to think for themselves. Arnie is doing the right thing by punching holes in this balloon and exposing him for what he really is, just a fat bag of gas and hot air.

You haven't handled any of us yet with your ranting! Does "i can handle any of you" mean you're ready to resort to violence?
