President Tells Democrats To Accept His Offer To Have Top Aides Testify Privately And Not Under Oath
- What's he hiding? A conversation to talk about the dedicated careers of prosecuters who put honesty and integrity before partisan politics? Who is he trying to kid? He thinks he has the right to discriminate against these good people when their job performances were exemplary. And how about the reasons behind it? Certainly tells us a lot for the reasons, when Libby was convicted for lying. Is it getting a little hot and to close for Mr. Liar,,, I mean President Liar?
I don't believe the conservative court judge influence rhetoric. People gain those positions to uphold the constitution, not by lying and subverting the American People.
If he wants a constitution show down I say bring him on! Maybe he is going to whip out his Saddam Gun Trophy and shoot everyone who disagress with his lies. - Reply to this comment
- "So Mrs. Caguas, who tortured and killed your husband and family? Drug dealers? Some loco criminal? Kiddnappers? Muslim terrorists?"
"No, the American banana people!" The Chiqita! The Chiquita!
Not even the ever so hated Jews kill people over bananas. Not even the most exteme of extemist Muslim terrorists, ever would think of a Jihad for BANANAS!!!
Monkeys would kill for bananas. White anglo barbaric extemely sick monkeys with a red white and blue flag that yell USA number one kill for bananas. How does an Amerikkkano walk around with their heads up after killing people for bananas? Animals that kill for bananas belong in a FREAKIN ZOO!!! - Reply to this comment
- someone please explain to a lowly simpleton such as myself...what does bush mean by a "constitutional showdown?"

- "30% of America (Bush and his supporters) are now dictating to the rest of America that we keep pumping money and troops into the blackhole called Iraq and that we "stay the course" that's leading this country into bankruptcy and destruction of our Constitution and way of life. Bush supporters are applauding the whole spectacle."

Why would the 30% of America want to share power with the other 70%? This would only diminish the power of the 30 percenters. Even better when you consider that 40 to 60 per cent of eligible voters don't bother voting. We could require all eligible voters to vote under penalty of law. Oh yes, this is a common practice in communist countries and countries with dictators. I for one don't recommend sharing power with others at one's own expense. - Reply to this comment

Yes indeed,, Yet we are supposed to have the best colleges & the best elected officials. We end up corruption & ideological idiots in charge -
-- We can do much better, we put men on the moon & sugar on corn flakes,,, but instead we regressed.... When we do speak we are called unpatriotic. - Reply to this comment
- Xgi,,, That's a good question.. Definatly remove appointees to our Pentagon (or at least conformation should be solely up to Congerss), CIA, FBI -- We might see actual inforcement -
- My experiances with the FBI, they won't take initiative on their own to investigate politicians, it's pretty much off limits for them.. Shame huh??
- If it's not the FBI's job to investagate government all the way to the top independantly, then who is left to do it ??? The Press ?? - Reply to this comment
- "Republicans are in a unique historical position. They are the first group of people raised on this land, who call themselves Americans, that openly proclaim the virtues of torture, secret prisons, extra judicial abduction, universal surveillance, and dictatorial government."

We need to restore it, despite all their objections."

- Come to think of it, the prez is awful defensive. Firing an ultimatum at 'Democrats' when the inquiry is bipartisan? Grandstanding, if you ask me.

- Bush could care less for the American People and all his lies about Iraq, Covert CIA outing, and now Roves lies. He is only thinking that in couple of years when he is no longer president he will be getting over $200K per lecture from around the world as worst and failed presidency!

- "It is yet to be decided whether the Revolution must ultimately be considered as a blessing or a curse: a blessing or a curse, not to the present age alone, for with our fate will the destiny of unborn millions be involved."
George Washington, Circular to the States, 1783
"No country upon earth ever had it more in its power to attain these blessings than United America. Wondrously strange, then, and much to be regretted indeed would it be, were we to neglect the means and to depart from the road which Providence has pointed us to so plainly; I cannot believe it will ever come to pass."
George Washington, letter to Benjamin Lincoln, June 29, 1788
"No morn ever dawned more favorable than ours did; and no day was every more clouded than the present! Wisdom, and good examples are necessary at this time to rescue the political machine from the impending storm."
George Washington, letter to James Madison, November 5, 1786
"And let history record that in that darkest hour, when loss predeemed history, providence again praised freedom. Providence, and the righteous will and might of the American people."

I'm sorry I didn't/don't understand. My question is, as opposed to political appointment to the hundreds of various posts in the government, how would the posts be filled? - Reply to this comment
