It is a clear case of anti-competitive tactics. Their are not trying to compete with a superior product, they are trying to eliminate the competition. It's all marketing, NO product, and screw the competition AND the public.

"Searing Truth, you have some very good points. This administration definitely has no morals or values, no matter how much they claim to. The lesson from this is that any politician who spends so much time talking about these things has none of them. The ones who really do have them are far too busy walking the walk to waste time talking the talk."

Indeed fellow patriot, but I have yet to see the footprints of any American in power. Let us hope that the Democratic Party receives our message and begins walking the blistering path that they must, to save our great nation.

Lest we walk it for them.

The Republican traditional American values to become as filthly rich as possible (at whatever cost), avoid paying taxes (at all costs) while at the same time pushing their love of "this great nation"... oh, and always wave the flag.

On this I need help. "Please tell me how "we haven't let them succeed." I don't recall court cases or an armed revolt to prevent the Bush administration from taking away our rights. I hear a lot about the war, treatment of an enemy who vows to destroy us, and some questions about listening to telephone conversations. There hasn't been a state of emergency declared suspending our rights or a suspension of the constitution. This is not Thailand where the military ousted elected leaders. Yes, I need help on this one.

Gonzo, you had me at "The constitution doesn't grant the right of habeas corpus". You are a wretched excuse for a human being.

So true, DefendLibety.
What ever happened to the good old days when Republicans stood for smaller government? What the Republican party needs to do is purge itself of all the corruption, and re-establish itself as a party of free thinking individuals who will vote for what they believe is right. For the past several years, the Republican Party has been a party of one--that "one" being the leader who pulls all the strings. All the individual elected officials have done is to obey out of fear for their careers should they decide to vote for what they really believe, or what really benefits their constituents. Then the Republican spin machine convinces the masses that their elected Republicans really were looking out for them. It's twisted and sad. But, if you're right, and the party can indeed purge itself, I will start voting for some of their candidates again--the ones I agree with.

You would not be able to post your views in many other countries if they were critical of the leadership, the military, or the country. China is a great example. Ummm... excuse me but I and my website are under constant surveillance, as even your beloved fuhrer and vice-fuhrer would acknowledge. The life of both myself and my son have also been threatened, many times.

The only reason we are still free is because things have gone horribly wrong for your beloved dictator, and he and his henchmen know they can't count on our civilian police, or the military, to obey illegal orders.

Sorry.

Gonzales is going to take the fall for the guys up top. Let's just hope the Senate won't let the issue go away after he leaves.

Golly. Here's more poppycock:

For decades I have heard the Republican Party talk about "traditional American values". So I'm curious, just what "traditional American values" does the current Republican party support?

I mean, you don't believe in individual liberty. You don't believe in freedom of speech. You don't believe in due process of law. You don't believe in the freedom of, and from, religion.
You don't believe in any of the traditional American values I was raised with.

You do believe in secret prisons. You do believe in torture. You do believe in imprisoning citizens with no charges, with no right to trial, and no right to prove their innocence, forever. You do believe in outing CIA agents who oppose you. You do believe in sending FBI agents to intimidate and threaten to imprison the political opposition. You do believe in sending National Security Letters to gather private information about every innocent US citizen who opposes your authoritarian rule. You do believe in allowing theocrats to make their personal religious beliefs law.

You do believe in all of the most precious ideals of authoritarian regimes throughout history. From the vantage point of an American, "Republican morality" looks exactly the same as the police state morality we have been fighting since the creation of our great country.

Such poppycock. We have a history of one branch of government or another stepping on each others toes. There have been congressional hearings, court rulings, special counsels appointed, infighting, fighting between the political parties, and even duels fought. None of this is new. We had war objectors to the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. We lost milllions of soldiers in WWI and WWII. We lost 50,000 soldiers in Vietnam. It is a miracle that we could fight in Iraq and lose just 3200 or so soldiers. Yes, every death is tragic. However, it is important to put things in perspective. Was Wilson a war criminal because of WWI? Was Roosevelt a war criminal because of WWI? Was Kennedy, Johnson, or Nixon a war criminal because of Vietnam? Hopefully, you get the point.
