Gee - now there's a shocker - the Bush/Cheney thugs bullying the judicial system - again.

Their continued assault on the US Constitution is roundly applauded time and time again by the Religious RIght who's ancestors were the tories who fought against the US Independance from England - and they've raised their spawn to do resent all that America stands for and fight against it.

Why is it you see no investigation in florida 2000 election about republicans filling out papers for absentee ballots or looking into ohio 2004 oh I forgot that would be bad for republicans so no investigations at all.

Maybe the democrat party will smarten up after the 2008 elections and hire new prosecutors and have them check on criminal acts by the republican party of the fraud they do in elections.

They are appointed by, work for and serve at the pleasure of the president. Should the president see fit to fire them he has that authority. The only reason the left is whining and babbling is because they have lost some of their moles. Sorry Democrats, you'll just have to recruit some new spies.

(CBS/AP) The White House played a significant role in the firings of eight federal attorneys, relaying complaints by Republican officials to the Justice Department that prosecutors were not adequately pursuing charges of voter fraud"

........ Great ! and can we fire the Dems in our 110th "Do-nothing" Congress also ??????

The Dems have been playing with voter fraud ever since Mayor Daley brought his "special" voting machine out of the closet during the election of 1960..... this is nothing new...... nor when the Dems surpressed Black voters rights in the South from the 1860's to the 1960's.......their experts at it......

The worst voter fraud I have seen is coming from Republican's! There isn't any dirty little trick they won't try to win an election! So they infest this country with their message of hate! But, isn't that the way it always is. The ones who scream the loudest are the biggest offenders. The Republican Party needs a complete overhauling. I won't vote for any of them even the moderates until they clean up their act!

It's like an enemy infiltration. The right wing religious wingnuts started small by taking over school boards and local governments. The ruthless Republicans neocon faction saw an opportunity and hooked up with these naive people of faith just as they made their final push to take over the presidency and snatched the top prize away just as they thought they had it in their hands. In the end, the wingnuts got little or nothing for all their hard work.

The wingnuts are still dangerous, but the neocons are the real enemy of the American people. They have a stilted vision that our military should be the face of our foreign policy... threatening all nations who don't yield to our will and our God given right to rule the world.

We should resurrect and re-program McCarthy to root out the neocons in government and industry before the cancer of their totalitarian vision of hell they'd make of our country metastasizes any farther than it already has.

Now that's ironic, a president who got his job largly due to voter fraud, gets 7 federal Prosecutors fired for "dequately pursuing charges of voter fraud"! I guess it's only fraud if Bush opponents are doing it!

Let's see now...

Bush asks for right to fire US Attorneys as part of the Patriot Act. Then his administration abuses that power for political purposes.

Bush asks for sweeping authority for warrentless wiretapping. Then the FBI abuses this power.

Call me stupid, but I'm beginning to see a pattern here.

Mr. Bush, CLEAN UP YOUR HOUSE!

Wow, I just love it when a plan comes together. The White House has the bases covered according to bsdad. Now if the Surge could evolve into a full Surge II, we would all sit up and take notice.

Good point MCVet, if these Attorneys lost their jobs for resisting political pressure, what did the Attorneys who did NOT lose their jobs do FOR the Republicans? What bribery case did their drop or Republican voter fraud case did they not pursue?

These same laws have been in place for a number of previous administrations. The CBS leftwing spin machine is in full gear. The headlines say it all, CBS carries the most agenda driven news in the industry. All one has to do is look at all the other news organizations headlines regarding this story to see what CBS is all about. It's great entertainment, the laughable part is there are Americans who believe the crapp CBS prints.

I have to wonder WHAT the "Team Players" did that prevented THEIR firing? To allow an Administration to committ the SAME acts with Federal Law enforcement that brought down Richard Nixon is NOT acceptable. OUR justice system should NOT be used as a Tool of POLITICS! People who do their jobs and refuse to lower themselves to that level should be leading, not terminated. Are you LISTENING Republican's? Honest REAL Republican's, it would appear to me, need to be asking themselves a question here. These ARE NOT democrats that were fired. That smoke you smell there is your party going up in FLAMES!!

That is a system that needs to be changed.

Federal prosecutors should be as far removed from political patronage as possible. Allowing a president to fire a federal prosecutor without justification or recourse can only lead to corruption of the prosecutor's office.

How can a prosecutor initiate an investigation into a president's cronies if he is in fear for his job? Or, can be fired if he does so?

Time to change that system so it requires congressional approval to hire or fire prosectors.

How much more side stepping of the law is this administration going to do?
How many more laws are they going to break before someone is held accountable?
When is enough - enough?
If you could decide what law to break with no repercusions, Which would you chose?
