President Claims Progress On Trade, Tries To Ignore Venezuelan Firebrand
- Ever since the Monroe Doctrine of 1823, the U.S. ruling class has essentially laid claim to Latin America as its sphere of influence and has backed this up with invasions, naval blockades, diplomacy, economic sanctions, political pressure and more. Indeed, the years since then have borne witness to plenty of aggressive U.S. government actions aimed at putting this doctrine into practice.
On one hand, Chavez spends considerable time publicly saying various correct things about the U.S. imperialists, a practise that has won him considerable popularity among the oppressed of Venezuela and other Latin American countries. - Reply to this comment

- On the other hand, despite Chavez%u2019s stated opposition to the Iraq war, Venezuelan oil shipments to the U.S. imperialists have remained uninterrupted over the past three years.
Certainly the people of Venezuela have benefited greatly from the Chavez reforms and these gains are worth defending in their own right. But social-democratic reforms alone cannot eliminate capitalism%u2014a system which by its nature must exploit and oppress the majority of the population, cause unemployment and rape the earth%u2014nor can the leadership of the Venezuelan bourgeoisie. Thus, just as in the U.S., Cuba and everywhere else, the workers and poor of Venezuela also need to strengthen their own class politics and organization in order to defend their interests by developing the class struggle against the Venezuelan bourgeoisie as well as the U.S. and other imperialist powers.

- It would appear IGNORING this VERY Popular Leader IS NOT the answer. We HAVE ignored these people and we HAVE allowed American Corporations to EXPLOIT them to no end. It's embarrassing and it should be. If YOU are one of those who wants to BLAME someone or something for the MESS while ignoring the leaders, well good luck. But our present condition in this nations shows us VERY clearly what finding someone to Blame will get you. I'd suggest we start ACCEPTING what these people tell us and start DOING something about it. Treating them like Second Class Citizens of the World while allowing the worst Labor Conditions and Enviromental Conditions in their history to be served on them? That's a perscription of MORE war's, that's all.

You see herein lies the difference between a Fascist and an American. The American say's "Here's a Problem and we need to look at HOW we're dealing with it". The Fascist say's "There is no problem and we need to look at those who are complaining". One seeks to find a solution. The other seeks to find someone to blame. Sieg Heil - Reply to this comment
- And you, have no idea whatsoever what that plight may or may not have been without US involvment.

LOL Now THAT is a great Fascist response. Of course the implication is, "Well they WERE abused but they are better off ABUSED by us than left alone". Is there ONE item presented to substantuate that claim? OF course there never is. To those who have been abused and those are the people who hate this man, Bush, SO MUCH. To them what they were and didn't have is MUCH better than the abuse they recieved from American Corportations. That's just a given. IF we do not change the course of this nation, get back to the system that brought us here, we face the same revolt. When one set of people make 400 TIMES what another set does, you have an UNFAIR system. There's just no way, outside of Fascist attitudes, that you can dispute that. When WE the PEOPLE control the power you can bank on there being a revolt. - Reply to this comment
- In the above photo, it looks like Bush is inserting a plug to stop that annoying wind from howling in the empty space that in normal people is occupied by a brain.

I HAVE TO AGREE. BUT, ONE SHOULD REMEMBER, THAT ALI, WAS UNDISPUTED CHAMPION OF THE WORLD. BUSH, IS UNDISPUTED CHAMPION OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION. - Reply to this comment
