It is a rather all or nothing crowd. You're either with them or against. Through track record it appears the right wing is willing to sacrifice democracy and full representation tipping the scale in favor of their narcissistic all or nothing ideology. This threatens to eventually bring the american dream to a final end as the game of monopoly draws to a close and the hubris of an entitled ruling class takes claim on the remaining share holders.

How might it not happen that wealth viewed completely private and disconnected from the society from which it generated bare no social responsibility in how it's applied in that same society? How can such consolidated wealth be prevented from buying the United States and privatizing it for the promulgation of a ruling class and its unique interests?

The atrocities committed by some factions in our government representing illusive covert interests that have been perpetrated against the common citizenry of latin american countries for instance can with eventuality be perpetrated against our own populace. What rationale could be given to explain as to why the american citizenry would be spared such assaults if as vulnerable as some are in other nations?

So tell me, is Bill Clinton a 'critical thinker'?

You guys are funny!

Haven't you ever noticed how a liberal like Clinton has to start talking like a Republican to get elected? If Liberals run on what they REALLY believe, they get slaughtered, except in places like the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts.

True. The critical thinker seems to be a dying breed.

david1737,

The reason most Ivy League professors are Democrats these days is because one cannot be a Rpeublican in the last 25 years and also be a critical thinker. That would be an oxymoron. And to be fair, many of that 90% you cite would probably describe themselves as Democratic-leaning independents.

True. It's sad how desperate the Neo-Con-Artists have become. It's their own sad paranoia.

American TV journalism has lost it's dignity.
Most of the sets look like Topless Bars on South Beach.
I'm glad the Democrats canceled the Fox debates.
The greatest Nation in the World can do better than asking inocuous questions on a channel that presents the news
in an obviously biased and mean spirited way.
CBS, NBC, and ABC need to do some serious soul searching.
I remember Walter Cronkite.
I also remember the Cuban missle crisis and can guarantee
if something important arises, the very survival of our Country depends on calm, clear headed, dignified journalism.
It's as if the Networks were trying to make journalism into a Video game for teenagers, reducing Thomas Jefferson to the level of some third rate street punk. Get some integrity.
Cover the conventions with hard nose reporters asking serious questions. The people will respond.
What has made people cynical, hence low ratings for political events, is the total lack of respect for people's intelligence shown by both the Political parties and the Networks.
And look at the result : A nation of angry and disenfranchised
people, looking for hope, and finding nothing.
What serves money does not necessarily serve the people.
The Democrats for once, showed some integrity.
Let's see if the major Networks can follow suit
and turn the 2008 Election Coverage into something America can be proud to have created.

If the Dems are so dumb explain (in real world terms) why 90% of Ivy league professors. are Democrats?

No excuses like "it's a conspiracy against Conservatives." Real word.
