STILL MORE CLINTON/GORE LEGACY

Monday, September 27, 1999

Turning Around Decades of Deficit to the Largest Surplus Ever In 1992, the deficit was $290 billion and projected to rise over $400 billion by 1999. In 1993, President Clinton put in place a three-part economic strategy of maintaining fiscal discipline; investing in the American people; and opening markets abroad. As a result, instead of facing a more than $400 billion deficit, the Administration estimates that we will have a surplus of at least $115 billion %u2013 the largest dollar surplus in history, even after adjusting for inflation. This announcement represents:

the first back-to-back surpluses since 1956-57; and
seven years in a row of fiscal improvement %u2013 the first time in US. history.

Some people actually believe and then repeat the drivel that gets pumped out by the media. Those stats are meant to make folks feel good. Talk to your politicians, look at what they are legislating; things aren't all that rosy for those at the bottom. Much is never seen.

I was aghast to see this poop still here. It is not newsworthy. It has no merit. The movie sucked! Al is a bore! He should not, would not, could not run.

If Bush hasn't presented you with enough evidence that he is an arrogant, incompetent and absolutely corrupt individual then I would like to know what you are smoking and where I can find some.

Honestly, irrespective of whatever faults Al Gore may have, how can anyone say that he would not have made a better president than George W. Bush has been? The only ones who are still hangin' on to the Bush wagon are the nutjobs riding with W right over the cliff! It boggles the mind.

Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy. His 20 room, 8 bathroom mansion burns PLENTY of energy.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh%u2014guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore%u2019s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Like a true nouvo-lib....say one thing but do another.

If we need a man who can build consensus and has an idea of the gravest dangers facing us (no, not terror);

- nuclear proliferation
- environmental disaster

GORE'S THE MAN !!

I doubt Al Gore will run. If he does, he WILL win the election in a landslide. And if he does, I'll be right with you, ZykraCosmos! I can't quit my job (you know, Bush economy and all that...), but I will be campaigning IF Gore runs.

First of all let me clarify George W. Bush will go down in history as the worst President of all time. Second it will be close but Nixon will be next then Harding then maybe Carter and topping off the 5 will be dear old Dad not because he deserves that title but because Jr. gave it to him by being the worst. No spin that anyone can put on this will change it. There is too much information out there because of the Internet. Furthermore, Gore never said he created the Internet he was on the panel and if you check you will find that scientist did say that he did a lot for its creating. So shut up no one believes that garbage anymore.

It has been awhile since I have seen this much fire from the right wing. Sounds to me like they are getting a little worried that ole Al just might run.

Just remember NEOCONs you got away with cheating last time becasue we were a sleep, but we are watching you low lifes now. The last elections proved that.... so go ahead and throw your tantrums and your dirt, every body expects it because at the end of the day that is the only thing you are good at.

AND, dallison7, your last comments shows just how ignorant you are. First of all, Bush may be a *******, but there is not one iota of evidence to PROVE he lied about anything. Second, the Republican controlled Congress balanced the budget, NOT Clinton (also, the President can not spend monies, the Congress spend monies). I love reading blogs like yours and similar thinking liberals, as they show just how far left and how extreme your thinking is, and just how ignant you are.

You got one thing right, Bush is indeed a *******. As for everything else, you're asleep. Wake up for just a minute and you will see a trial in progress. The past six years have proven how frugal the 'republican congress' is and how well they can balance the budget without Clinton at the helm.

LARS,

I feel so sorry for you. You blindly support a war that the MAJORITY of americans and a growing number of active and non-active military no longer support. It is time for you to wise up. This country does not need mindless brainwashed soldiers, we need intelligent thinking soldiers that know right from wrong.

Appeal for Redress
Sign this Appeal.
This site is an Appeal For Redress in support of our mission in Iraq.
An Appeal For Redress is an authorized means for active duty military to submit a grievance to Congress. It can be signed by Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard military personnel.
It is authorized by DoD Directive 1325.6 and DoD Directive 7050.6.
The wording of the Appeal for Redress is:
As an American currently serving my nation in uniform, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to fully support our mission in Iraq and halt any calls for retreat. I also respectfully urge my political leaders to actively oppose media efforts which embolden my enemy while demoralizing American support at home. The War in Iraq is a necessary and just effort to bring freedom to the Middle East and protect America from further attack.
If you are active duty, reservist or national guard, please Sign this Appeal.
Most service members fully support the war in Iraq and feel calls to retreat by Congress and attacks by our media on our conduct and mission act to motivate our enemy while demoralizing our support at home, directly increasing the threat we face and resulting in greater American casualties. This Appeal for Redress provides a way in which individual service members can appeal to Congress to fully support us and actively oppose media attacks on our mission and our morale.
This Appeal will be delivered to members of Congress.
