VP Refuses To Take Back Charge That Speaker's Anti-War Stance Emboldens Al Qaeda
- Does anyone else hear that? That buzzing sound of an irritating gnat or mosquito?
Oh wait! There it is! Lieberman181 is in the room! My bad, I should have noticed all of the troll droppings on the floor. Whew, for a moment there I thought it might be someone or something that counted. - Reply to this comment
- Musty2U: In the Peloponnesian War, Pericles had a perfect strategy that made use of Athens' natural advantages. So long as his naval strategy was followed, Athens couldn't be defeated. But after Pericles died, his strategy was abandoned by people who were anxious to bring the fight to Sparta, but who weren't as strategically adept as Pericles had been. Athens lost the war to Sparta. The men who misled Athens were unquestionably Athenian patriots, but a great nation has a right to demand great results from its leaders and not just great intentions. Great results in war flow from the right strategy and the right tactics. The President and Vice President you make excuses for have given us the wrong strategy, the wrong tactics, and a gradual inevitable defeat. Their supposed patriotism does not excuse failure on this scale.

- gkc99: I was writing a sample speech for Nancy Pelosi, and I doubt she could or would take such a position. But from my own perspective, Mr. Cheney is not only a war instigator but a war profiteer (he'll be pulling down an income from Halliburton for the rest of his life). What a cozy position for him; what a dangerous position for the rest of us.
macusaweil: Who was the general who famously said he disagreed with the Iraq War strategically, tactically, and operationally? The War was conducted as a wish-fulfillment fantasy: since we wanted the Iraqis to welcome us with open arms, we assumed they would and planned the Invasion around a Liberation motif. Sadly, the Iraqis had different dreams. - Reply to this comment
- For Willia the *** - I know you're disappointed that you can't go to bed with Botox Nan - but who would want to? I doubt even her own hubby does nowadays.
And for gkc - interesting alphabet soup here, I question your patriotism or whether you even have the brains you little pissant were born with. Spew and Vomit over Cheney - but don't forget to give aid and comfort to Bin Laden.
As for the rest of the Cheney haters - grow up. There's a few things I disagree with him on, but on the subject of questioning the ILLEGAL cheerleader Botox Pelosi's loyalty he is absolutely right.
Botox Girl constantly lies - about saving American jobs or providing more for education when she advocates open borders for ILLEGALS. She constantly lies when she claims to support the troops when she wants to pull the plug on their supplies, and urge their surrender.
But do give her a pass, surrender monkeys and Bozo fascists. And don't forget to keep spewing hate towards Cheney. That's about the top speed for pissants and traitors nowadays. - Reply to this comment
- "Cheney Won't Budge"
I had a situation like that the other day.
A tab of ex-lax did the trick.
Not sure just one tab will do it for Mr. Evil. He may need to take the whole pack as he obviously is full-up of what needs budging. =-) - Reply to this comment
- Say what you will; our President and Vice President will be in the history books as true patriots.

- I certainly question the patriotism of Bush and Cheney. They have consistently worked against the interests of the greater United States to further the economic and political goals of their cosy little elite of zillionaire oil companies and the "American elite"--who else would have given the richest 1% in the US the biggest tax cut in history while spending a trillion dollars on their idiotic war. It's not enough to wrap yourself in the flag, hide behind the soldiers, or thump the Bible. Bush and Cheney are traitors.

- What REALLY emboldens our enemies was when chuckle-nutts, our clueless commander in chief, Bush and lord sith "darth" Cheney started a war of choice, toppled the Iraqi leadership (shock and awe) then completely dismantled their entire armed forces creating a huge power vacuum.. .. all the while leaving looters to loot and huge stock piles of munitions scattered all of the country-side.
Yes sir, I am indeed both shocked and awed by their stupidity!! The fact these two clowns took the best military force in the world and used it to create a train wreck civil war and $$ siphoned the US treasury dry is mind blowing. Who's eating cheese covered FREEDOM FRIES now?? - Reply to this comment
- [Part 2] "The real issue in Iraq is no longer really 'winning,' it's finding a way for you and the President to avoid taking responsibility for the purposeless debacle you have inflicted on our country. You don't want to be remembered like LBJ, a failed President whose administration was destroyed by the adventure in Vietnam. And so you will say anything, blame anyone, deny any reality, and besmirch any opponent if you think you can get the American people to believe that someone else was responsible for the obvious failures in Iraq. But the truth is that the Congress and the American people let you do whatever you wanted, and you failed, and so there is no one to blame for that failure but you.
"I don't question your patriotism, Mr. Cheney, I question your judgment, which has been consistently bad, and I question your connection to reality. How dare you tell me to take responsibility for the possible consequences of an American withdrawal from Iraq when you have consistently refused to take any responsibility for four years of American failure in Iraq! Trusting your judgment on Iraq at this point would be ridiculous."
BTW, I apologize for using Mr. Cheney's first name in the previous post. I didn't realize it would be considered obscene. - Reply to this comment
- I wish that instead of complaining, Pelosi had made light of Cheney, in the following fashion:
"Yesterday, VP *** Cheney said that by opposing this administration's proposed escalation in Iraq, I was playing into the hands of al Qaeda. It's time to say out loud what most Americans already know: it's you and the President who have played into the hands of al Qaeda by taking their bait in the first place.
"What was the purpose of the 9/11 attacks? It looks to me like the object was to lure America into immensely bloody and expensive wars on enemy territory, to sucker us into replays of Vietnams, or, even better from their perspective, into a replay of the USSR's collapse after losing its war in Afghanistan. But you and the President couldn't wait to jump into the hole al Qaeda dug for us! You were so infatuated with America's supposed military invincibility and with your positions of near-absolute power that you thought you could do anything, and that no one could possibly resist.
"Three thousand dead Americans and two trillion wasted dollars later, it turns out you were horribly wrong. Things haven't gotten better in Iraq since the fall of Saddam no matter how many times you repeat the lie in public, and America's position in the region has been getting worse rather than better.

..nor should he........ Nancy along with her other corrupt pal Harry, million$ land scandal, Reid have for the past six years blocked legislation in Congress, called our President a liar, and lied "repeatly" about our our President misled our country........
.....the fact is we in America today have an extremely corrupt liberal MSM wolfpack....... that has had it out for this conservative religious President and his administration....
The apology should come from the Dems and their corrupt liberal pals in our "free left-wing press" - Reply to this comment
- Cheney and the neofascists have played right into the hands of the supporters of the caliphate--through their reckless, lying tactics, they have alienated pretty much everyone in the world, except a few US armchair warriors who think war is like the Superbowl. Bush, Cheney and Rummy are the traitors who have violated their oaths of office and are due for impeachment--oh wait, Rummy is gone--but the other scum are still there. Aid to Al Queda--you bet, from the Bushits!

- I think it is absurd for you guys to think that the so called "Slow-Bleed" strategy the Pelosi and Murtha have put forth will be nothing more than quick-kill of our soldiers in the field. Cheney is right to call out Pelosi on this and question her judgment or lack there of.
This really shows what the Democrats think of our troops...according to Obama "wasted". When you have to stand up and say before every sentence that you respect and honor the troops, but... you don't really mean it. - Reply to this comment
- Good for Cheney.
I don't think he should apologize or back down. If what he said is what he really believes, then more power to him.
However, I'm disappointed, as I'm sure we all are, that we haven't heard more on his views about torture and gay rights.
Maybe he can open his pie hole and spill out more vile hatred for the rest of the world to lap up.
Seriously, everytime that guy opens his mouth, its either to talk about somebody he hates, or its just plain inaccurate or wrong.
What a TOOL! Unreal!! - Reply to this comment

You idiot we gave them more years than we gave for WW2. Al Quesadilla was never in Iraq. The falsified evidence of WMD was embarassingly disproved. Our civil rights have been surrender by the Repblicons. 3149 BEAUTIFUL AMERICAN SOLDIERS DEAD. 20,000 ARE MAIMED. WHAT MORE MUST WE SACRIFICE TO THE GOD OF HALIBURTON? Bring our soldiers home. And we will be ready for the terrorists. We diminish what we stand for every second we are an invading nation. Abu Gharib, guantanimo, black op renditions. italy indicts 26 CIA operatives. We lose allies GErmany France and a mulititude of other nations. You get it We did this with FALSIFIED INTEL. We are responsible for this mess now. the Dems have to undo they share blame as well . - Reply to this comment
- reignsworld,
Bush-Cheney already emboldened the terrorists more than anyone else could. They consciously gave OBL a pass at Tora Bora, because the great non-threat Saddam was awaiting. They did more for al Qaeda than anyone else on the planet.
BUSH-CHENEY al QAEDA RECRUITERS OF THE YEAR, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006
Georgie and dickey got rid of Saddam and opened Iraq to the Iranians and al Qaeda for both of them at the same time. The Iranians had been unable to defeat Iraq after years of war and Saddam had been ruthless at keeping al Qaeda out. The terrorist owe bush-cheney their gratitude for getting rid of Saddam on their behalf since they were unable to do it themselves. bush & cheney screwed the U S, but they helped Iran, al Qaeda and the contractors.
