Having to choose between democrats and republicans is like having to choose between Beavis and Butt-Head.
Either way you will get similar results!

As to Hillary being %u201Churt much more by their refusal to be honest & admit an error than they were by the error itself."

Anyone who isn't childish in their logic, should see that her answer is the only right answer, & not even the polictically correct answer.

Everybody is so bi-polar these days. Kerry was trashed for the same reason.
The "intelligence" (remember somebody's going to jail for the manipulation of the "intelligence") was Iraq had WMD's beyond the "yellowcake" they were supposedly trying to buy.

With that info, a vote for the invasion was NOT an out of hand mistake. With the correct info, it would have been a mistake.
That's what she said. Get over it!

Where were all the "No War!" people who are in the high 60% margin now, when the original vote was taken?

The country wanted the war then, & when it turn out bad, noone wanted to take responsibility for their personal positions. That's why the "I Support Our Troops" stickers were everywhere.
Support how?
Support them generally? i.e. "I like the troops"
Supoort their mission? i.e. "I support the war"
Support arming them properly? i.e. "I don't support the war, but for God sake give then a fighting chance to stay alive".

It's too late now, other than indicting scapegoats & impeaching the other two.

If the Dems. want to lose in 08, the infighting has got to stop. This was the party's downfall in the past two elections.

Let ALL the candidates talk current policy positions, shut the heck up
& LISTEN!!!!

phil-in-Fin: Someone who is dishonest in little things will be dishonest in big things.

It says TONS and TONS about Hillary's character that she would pilfer art and china from the White House.

Let's hope that someone one does, so that this gets going into an excellent (and, might I add, intelligent), debate.

Actually, I am looking forward to it.

I have to run off: my kids are asking for my skiing expertise!

Thanks for the discussion!

The one person I would like to see run but won't is Colin Powell. He has to much integrity to get into the back stabbing and name calling. Democracy
is a great idea...just get the special interest and lobbiest the _ell out of there. The system is now corrupt...but it is still the best option out there. I would like to see term limits...too much power corrupts. There is no more gov't for the people by the people...and that goes for both sides.

I am curious about Obama, absolutely, and how he will handle her campaign.

Apologize for her Iraq vote?

I wish she'd apologize for stealing stuff from the White House.

"But this soon into the campaign she is sending out her underlings to condemn Obama so that she can claim that she's 'above that fray'. Such disengenuousness this early indicates to me that she'll self-destruct before the summer."

Unless you are sitting on the fence, perpetually undecided, and then Obama makes a huge political gaffe.

And then everyone will point at Hillary and call her a saint: momentum will swing her way and then Obama supporters will be left wondering what had happened to it all.

I can just about hear her say "I told you so!"

Hillary is Hillary. We have seen it all from her already. What humiliation and scandal has not touched her?

There is no place for her to hide, so she is sowing a huge swathe, like it or not.

I am curious about Obama, absolutely, and how he will handle her campaign.

The FBI investigated Foster's death. Do you have any new/factual information or are you just paroting Limbaugh?

You are right about Hillary, and yet, we have a long way to go before the election and I think that it is a mistake to discount anybody at this point.

Agreed. But this soon into the campaign she is sending out her underlings to condemn Obama so that she can claim that she's "above that fray". Such disengenuousness this early indicates to me that she'll self-destruct before the summer.

No worries for Hillary. She will kill her opponents, just like Vince Foster.

I am an Edward's fan but I have to confess that Hillary's campaign style has mollified my angry feelings at her for voting to give Bush the authority to wage a war with Iraq. It would have been very difficult for a Senator from New York to oppose the invasion, I suppose...the bad press may have sunk her political career. As for her refusal to apologize, she has as much done so without actually groveling. I don't want her to do that either.
The contention that Republicans are viewed as strong on national defense and Democrats are weak has been destroyed by Bush's failures as Commander-in-Chief. His brash and reckless attitude has proven how unsuccessful a great country can be when it decides to take unilateral action in spite of world opposition. America is suffering for his lack of wisdom.

I have never agreed with our President on every issue, nor the rest of the bunch you listed. I won't go into all here, I don't have room. But some here Support their Demoncrats no matter what and I don't understand that.

I don't always support the democrats and as a matter of fact I only support them because they are the major national party that comes closest to my values as a Socialist (I think Michael Moore is too far to the right), but you must admit that there are also those here who support Bush no matter what. If I was wrong about you, I apologize.

To formrusmcsgt,

After our time with Bush, I think that many people have been left rather dazed.

Everybody is lining up behind somebody, something, some cause, trying to steer away from Bush and all that he stands for regardless of the political damage that they are causing themselves.

You are right about Hillary, and yet, we have a long way to go before the election and I think that it is a mistake to discount anybody at this point.

Who knows how this thing is going to go.

I prefer to wait and see: no one knows how the populace is going to line up come election.

Iraq, Iraq, Iraq we all agree "Get out" and Hillary will do that! There are so many other problems that need to be address and Hillary knows how to get things done! I want a 'problem solver' not a 'decider' or a 'charmer'.

I just need to see a little bit more flexibility from her, if it is possible.
Posted by phil-in-Fin at 02:09 PM : Feb 22, 2007

Hillary has joined the club of those who were hurt much more by their refusal to be honest and admit an error than they were by the error itself.

Nixon and her husband come to mind among others.....

"I think her stubborness on this issue hurts her more than helps her which doesn't break my heart. Personally, I hope she continues to sabotage her candidacy."

Yes, I know what you mean, that she is stubborn, however I am willing to give her a chance.

I just need to see a little bit more flexibility from her, if it is possible.

I wonder: where she has been in the limelight so often has her skin become too tough?

Has she become gun shy? If so, she is no good to anybody (except to be Bill's wife).
