Unfortunately, a number of bloggers from the right side of the aisle here are lemmings of "The Limbaugh Institute for Conservative Studies!"

frankbowers .... you of course are wrong....
The President and Vice President serve a term of office of four years. The Twenty-second Amendment (which took effect in 1951) provides that no one may be elected to the office more than twice, and that no one may be elected President more than once who has held the office of (or acted as) President for more than two years of another's term (thus a person may hold the office of President no longer than ten years%u2014two four-year terms and one term less than two years having been a vice president who succeeded to the Presidency).

Neither party has a worthwhile candidate, all their political who res are all used up with a bunch of social diseases. Bunch of parasites who care nothing about this country or the american people. Anyone supporting either worthless party at this point is nothing but a sucker, and if you give money to these people you're dumber than the Pat Robertson followers.

This is directed to Scott. You are so right about Tsongas in 91 and Dean in 03 but now lets us not forget they did not have her good looks and nor her smarts. She is pretty nice to the eye as we say in this part of the country and they well not so, to me any way their skirts were too long.;-). I hope she gets it she will be great as president and the first woman. She has the smarts and she has Bill to fall back on when she is in doubt. He was extremely smart and never bragged of it save Americas financial a**. I did not like him and did not vote for him but her I will. frankbowers, I hate to break it to you, but Bill Clinton CANNOT run again.

According to the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once." Prior to the adoption of the amendment, the Constitution set no limit on the number of presidential terms. The United States Congress passed the amendment on March 21, 1947.

Franklin D. Roosevelt was not bound by this because he was President when this amendment was passed: "...this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term."

Incidentally, FDR is the only president to be elected to more than two terms.

Most near all the military are contract labors (Paid Foreign Legions like the French use to have) as well as soldiers. The Bonus they receive for going is very large. The Major accross the street received 150,000 for going the first time and he said he got more the second time. He a physician and is never in danger as he has at least 3 or 4 body guards at all time and stays in the Green Zone at all times plus gets two 30 day return visits out of a 12 or 12 month tour. Now his wife who is a major is going with him this trip ( a baby specialist of some nature)and the bonus is about 500,000 for the two combined. So our army has became nothing short of the American Foreign Legion for hire and we the tax payers are stupid enough to pay.Not to mention the re enlistment bonus the major would not tell me but said his was a 6 figure number this time. Something for the war hawks to think of and remember their kids and gra.children and gt grand children will pay for their happeniness.

To all those who believe Hillary will snatch the Democratic nomination, remember this: The conventional wisdom in 2003 was that Howard Dean would have a cakewalk to the Democratic nomination. The same was true for Paul Tsongas in 1991. 11 months is a very long time in American politics. Anything can happen.

I see a few speak with out knowledge.
Bill Clinton could run,win and take the seat of president it is the fact. They can not run but 2 times, at which time they can not run the third term but after a 4 year break they can run and an be seated if they win. So he is elgible to run again and w/o a problem with the Constitution.
Now as for Sen. Edwards I am just wondering after listening to him last night on CSPAN, at which time he said a clean run was what it is about and none of the demo.canidates should throw stones at each other. He disappoints me.I would have did the same thing Mrs Clinton did with the information she was given by the president. She could not chance the fact he was lying. This sin is on his hands and her hands are clean.

Many have the mistaken notion that the South is populated with a majority of rednecks who hate g a y s and abortion. That they all have guns in their trucks and that they all vote Republican. And they are all supporting the war in Iraq. The huge mistake we Democrats in the South have made all these years is to allow conservatives to take over our party with this flag-waving divisive nonsense.

I live in Arkansas, a state that is actually more "purple" than "blue" or "red." Just look at our congressional delegation. My point is that those on the right and on FOX news (and even CNN and MSNBC sometimes) try to make this about US and THEM. What they fail to realize is that there IS ONLY US! ONE COUNTRY!

Did you get your smokes? Better burn a few and do some research on that Bosnia question you posed to me earlier in the afternoon. I've been research and things aren't all that rosy.

Lots of NATO troops, lots of American troops.....lots considering they were all supposed to be home by Christmas '96.

That's 11 years. How long have we been in Iraq? Check it out. Going home to eat! Ya'll have a great evening.

Lars,,, "the liberals want the military eliminated entirely" -- Hey dude it's Bush/Rumsfield/Cheny who has more contracted private soldiers fighting in Iraq than American Troops... That's thier version of "streamlining the military"

Lars,, Our Troops were on food stamps in the 60's, nothings changed from any party, Both parties are guilty of not keeping military pay up to standard with the economy, even Bush fails to do that, his pay raises hasn't amounted to squat.
