Comments on: Bush Insists Iran Sending Arms To Iraq
But President Says He Doesn't Know If Top Iranian Leaders Are Responsible
- "What it's likely to do is not to get the Iranians to back away, but rather tempt them to show us they can't be pushed around."
Martin Indyk, the Brookings Institution
Indyk, newly naturalized American citizen (from Australia or Israel), neocon, is a sly fellow. He never says outright what he thinks - but trys to "set the stage" to influence events as he would like to see them. If you translate what he said above you get:
hey america! look at how iran's thumbing its nose at you! what are going to do about it?

I liked your piece but the danger, friend, is from within. We can see a day, not too far off, when oil has been replaced. These desert kingdoms will be forgotton. But what about the danger from our own citizens. How do you explain that a crazy rightwing fringe group, the neocons, have taken center stage? They have powerful friends with alot of money who want to impose their philosophy of life, their ideas of right and wrong. Believe me, they are more frightening than any terrorist group around. - Reply to this comment
- World Order:
Without us really noticing (or caring?) hundreds of millions of dollars are transferred each year from a myriad of "foundations" or "trusts" to an even greater number of lobbying groups (also known as think-tanks). These "foundations" where the money originates represent the richest of the rich in America. The think tanks are their hired guns and they're paid to influence and even make government policy. They're the ones who want "World Order" and their world is very diffenent from ours. Among their cherished goals is "individual liberty" - sounds good - but in reality it means that the government rolls back its protection of the citizen (health care/pensions/unemployment benefits/unions) and more or less says: everyone is on his own now-self responsibility. Pure capitalism where those with the money decide, the other follow. But this is only one of many varied objectives they have. Check out many Supreme Count decisions now being questioned in court and who is behind them. The sooner we start talking about these interest groups and their agendas, the better. - Reply to this comment

- I am so sick of these wacko right wing nut jobs. They need to go back to their hole and die. They have destroyed this country in such a short time. I for one will not ever forget this mess they have made of the world. They had a chance and yet they decided to cause death and destruction and misery. Do not blow smoke we are not listening to you clowns any longer.

- You may have noticed the coming surge of American public opinion against using our military to promote the agenda of other Countries! American people are learning it is ok to disagree with a President who is friends of Saudi Arabia and who gives them special treatment on the world stage at the expense of American lives. For years no one would say anything against promoting the Israeli agenda for fear of being labeled an anti-Semitist but now America is learning it is also acceptable to disagree with Israeli promoters like AIPAC members, Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and William Kristol of the Weekly Standard who would gladly sell thousands of American soldiers lives to promote Israeli interest! Now these same policies and neocons are pushing our soldiers toward another war in Iran. American military is made to protect American interest not fight proxy wars in the interest of other countries! American blood and treasure should be spent only in American interest! The Current Vice President of the United States felt the need to jump on a plane on a moments notice and fly to Saudi Arabia at the beckon call of the house of Saudi. He showed the world by his actions who his true masters were! As for the Rest of us Americans, The Statue of Liberty Stands in New York Harbor and is not Kneeling in the desert of the Middle East!

- Yes - "World Order" scares the hell out of me.
What it entails for the "majority" of this world? If even a small portion of this is true... it is a sick place to be and fatal for our grandkids. Every move this administration has made has reeked of anti-americanism and world power. From FTAA - to talk of a north american "trade union" with open borders and spanish language induction into society. The dwindling middle class and the change to "corporatized" or "privatized" governance.
so yeah - I NEVER thought i would "believe" but this administration has convinced me that they care nothing for the village or the world unless it spells profit and power.

- JFK'S,1961 SPEACH WAS GIVEN IN A TIME WHEN WE WERE UNDER A REAL DANGER OF BEING ATTACKED, WITH REAL NUKES. HE WAS TALKING ABOUT A COUNTRY THAT HAD ENOUGH NUKES TO DESTROY THE PLANET IN A BLINK OF THE EYE. TO COMPARE PRESIDENT, JFK, TO THE CURRENT DECIDER, IS LIKE COMPARING APPLES AND ORANGES,(LEMONS). IRAQ, DID NOT HAVE ANY CAPABLE MEANS OF ATTACKING THE USA. JFK'S SPEACH , INSURE THE SURVIVAL AND THE SUCCESS OF LIBERTY, WAS REFERRING TO THE,SURVIVAL OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, NOT IRAQ.

- America needs to know who is being held accountable for several of the out right theft and blunders in Iraq being perpetrated under the shade of the Fog of War. These thefts include but are not limited to; the Slant drilling being done by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in Iraqi Oil reserves, the theft of OIL during production and sale by not having meters on the line to account for the oil that is processed thru the line, the remaining billions of dollars that have no audit trail from the 363 tons of money, indigenous Iraqi money found in Iraq, and the 4 billion American tax dollars that was sent to Iraq? I know that President Bush gave Paul Bremer a medal for his handling of Iraq and Promoted General Casey but should not someone be disciplined or jailed for this mismanagement?

how do we have a global rule on, for ex., carbon emissions, when we have guys like bush trying to impose a World Order direct from the PNAC textbook? they do not care about the environment, they think it's a joke, and treat the issue as such. B4 we can have any global rules, we need global thinkers, not neocon doctrinists. - Reply to this comment

- I guess what's eating you guys is the word, order, in World Order, wereas you were quite happy to have one Global Village. If we are to decide on carbon emissions, say, we need a Global Rule which everyone follows, or disregards at their peril.

- 6. Duties of the Party Comrade
The National Socialist commandments:
The F|hrer is always right!
Never go against discipline!
Don't waste your time in idle chatter or in self-satisfying criticism, but take hold and do your work!
Be proud but not arrogant!
Let the program be your dogma. It demands of you the greatest devotion to the movement.
You are a representative of the party; control your bearing and your manner accordingly!
Let loyalty and unselfishness be your highest precepts!
Practice true comradeship and you will be a true socialist!
Treat your racial comrades as you wish to be treated by them!
In battle be hard and silent!
Spirit is not unruliness!
That which promotes the movement, Germany, and your people, is right!
If you act according to these commandments, you are a true soldier of your F|hrer. - Reply to this comment

"For fourteen or fifteen years I have continually proclaimed to the German nation that I regard it as my task before posterity to destroy Marxism, and that is no empty phrase but a solemn oath which I shall follow as long as I live. I have made this confession of faith, the confession of faith of a single man, that of a mighty organization. I know now that even if fate were to remove me, the fight would be fought to the end; this movement is the guarantee for that. This for us is not a fight which can be finished by compromise. We see in Marxism the enemy of our people which we will root out and destroy without mercy...."

Really great piece! How true! Especially, the part about "regret". Like when Bush offers us "there have been mistakes made, I assum responsibility".

- "What happened was the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to be governed by surprise, to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security ...
To live in the process is absolutely not to notice it -- please try to believe me -- unless one has a much greater degree of political awareness, acuity, than most of us ever had occasion to develop. Each step was so small, so inconsequential, so well explained or, on occasion, regretted.
Believe me this is true. Each act, each occasion is worse than the last, but only a little worse. You wait for the next and the next. You wait for one shocking occasion, thinking that others, when such a shock comes, will join you in resisting somehow.
Suddenly it all comes down, all at once. You see what you are, what you have done, or, more accurately, what you haven't done (for that was all that was required of most of us: that we did nothing) ... You remember everything now, and your heart breaks. Too late. You are compromised beyond repair. "
