Gore's actually doing useful things now with his involvement in global warming stuff. Why would he want to dirty himself by becoming a politician again?

Gore could probably pull it off and win the election again. He has already been through the swiftboat routine, not many more lies the neocons could come up with about him. Plus he has carved out quite a personna lately.

Al Gore's an embarrassment and a total waste of skin. If that's the best the Dem's can do, well OK we'll take that.

LOL

By comparison the republicans have three alternatives. 1. A male slvt who stands against everything they stand for, 2. A 70 year old has-been who likes to fall asleep in public, and 3. A member of the most bizzare cult on the face of the earth.

LOL

Gore would probably make a fair to good President especially when compared to the morally corrupt bunch that's in the White House now.
Unfortunately, I think he forfeited his best bet for an election win when he refused to take on Bush for an election rematch in 2004. For Gore, his prime opportunity for election has passed.

Thoughtful response. Well articulated with clearly delineated arguments.

Al Gore serves as a great example of someone who finally learned how to be a likeable and respected public figure: quit listening to the handlers. President Bush's quality that allowed him to get elected twice? He seemed like a natural fella. Gore acted so stiff and staged it fed into a natural reaction against him that the Republicans played to the hilt. If you have seen him lately, he's a different cat. Much more relaxed - less staged. His success with his film and message has provided a confidence that has transformed him into a much more identifiable individual. If he decides to run he could be a legitimate force with whom to contend. That is if the American people gave him another chance to define himself on different terms.
