Lars, do you get paid to post the *** you post, or, are you suffering from some sort of mental defect?

And, do you seriously believe anyone takes your diatribes seriously? You and Singinrick are amusing in a juvenile sort of way, but your comments demnostrate you are both either very young and immature or mentally retarded.

Former President Clinton is totally irrelevant to the fact Navy36 was repeating Karl Rove's (the GOP's chief liar & propagandist) propaganda verbatim.

"In otherwords only congress can declare war or grant war powers and does not need UN permission. As per article 6."

Posted by cbscrash07 at 07:34 PM : Feb 08, 2007

Yes, Congress can do that. But, Congress did not do that. They passed a resolution authorizing use of the military to support a UN resolution that did not pass.

Remember Colin Powell repeating George Bush's lies, complete with photos, when he tried to sell the UN on the idea of authorizing use of force against Iraq?

Remember "Freedom Fries"?

They resulted from France vetoing the resolution the GOP was counting on to authorize use of force.

George Bush had no legal authority to order troops to invade Iraq. Congress gave him no such authority.

And, if Congress had authorized it, it would still be a war crime under international law. Perhaps you recall the execution of some guy named "Saddam Hussein" and all the allegations about his "war crimes." According to Iraqi law, he wasn't doing anything illegal at the time.

Asserting that war crimes are legal based on actions by congress demonstrates ignorance of the law.

lars008-

I really pity you. You must have that post saved to a .doc file so you can cut and paste it every day. It smelled the first time you posted it and still does.

A person as consumed with xenophibia such as yourself should really seek help.

ISLAM / PERFECT EXAMPLE OF FASCISM!!!
islam is intent on killing or enslaving all non muslims......

The most notable characteristic of a fascist country is the separation and persecution or denial of equality to a specific segment of the population based upon superficial qualities or belief systems.

Simply stated, a fascist government always has one class of citizens that is considered superior (good) to another (bad) based upon race, creed or origin. It is possible to be both a republic and a fascist state. The preferred class lives in a republic while the oppressed class lives in a fascist state.

Democrats are SPINELESS! They could vote for HR508 and END this DISASTER of DEATH and DESTRUCTION in 6 months.

But no, they instead grandstand around 'Non-binding' resolutions. What rot. This is going to be a Democrat War as much as Republican if they don't STAND UP to the fascist NeoCons who LIED and SCARED Americans into a needless war in Iraq.

One Americans Post;

If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow by the knowledge that they can act with impunity, even in the face of a clear message from the United Nations Security Council and clear evidence of a weapons of mass destruction program.

GOP nonsense?

The whole Iraq episode is not GOP nonsense. It it a clear example of how our leaders have failed us.

The Democrats are at fault for not standing up in the face of attacks by the conservative press that labeled them unpatriotic for daring to disagree with the Bush adminstration.

The Bush adminstration is at fault for using our emotions from 911 to politicize Operation Iraqi Freedom, false information to exaggerate the WMD threat and passing the buck when no WMDs were found in Iraq.

My heart goes out the the troops and their families who are being abandoned by both parties for the sake of politics.

The best way to support the troops is to demand that the new congress holds those responsible for this foriegn policy disaster responsible by investigating them and removing them from office.

Better yet the people responsible should save the taxpayers some expense by simply resigning.

It took me several years after I returned from the Army during Viet Nam to shake off the effects of the brainwashing that every GI goes thru in basic training. That plus no one wants to believe they are/were on a fools mission. Therefore I suggest that those in the military today do not get too wrapped up thinking that we are against them. Trust us, we are not! I returned 39 years ago and I and many like many other vets have the benefit of years of retrospect on wars. Only those who've never served think it's cool or macho. Having bullets whiz all around you is not my idea of fun. Don't pay attention to those that served 100 miles off the coast or in Guam either. To find those go to your nearest VFW hall. The true fighters never talk about it, probably because they're still living it!
