- The mayors actions are despicable, irregardless of his party affiliation. Democrat, Republican Green Party, it doesn't matter. I am a Democrat. I will not exonerate the mayor because he is a member of my party. Saying you are sorry doesn't excuse the inexcuseable behavior.

- Let's all take a step back and ask ourselves what has happened here. Alex Tourk has just been betrayed buy the woman he loved and by the man he chose to work for. The man he helped get elected to public office. It's a little naive to say what the mayor does on his own time is his business. Anyone in office knows that close scrutiny of ones life and actions comes with the territory. What the mayor did was unconscionable. It was the ultimate betrayel. I could not vote for a man who so casually would stab a friend in the back. I only hope there are no children involved here. I'm sorry but hiding behind some chemical dependency does not exonerate Ruby Tourk from an even greater betrayel. How could a man ever love and trust a wife after such a betrayel. Alex Tourk will make additional decisions. Difficult decisions. I for one would wait for Mrs. Tourk to complete her drug dependency rehabilitation and set her free. The marriage will never be the same.

- Having an affair with a married woman is pretty bad. Having an affair with a woman who works for you is against the law. Having an affair with a woman who works for you, and is married to a person who has worked as your chief-of-staff and then later to use him as your campaign manager is dispicable, highly immoral, and shows a lack of integrity, honesty and personal responsiblity.
It demonstrates a disreguard and a lack of appreciation for those who have served and depended on him. It demonstrates selfishness and a lack of sensativity. He should RESIGN NOW, because he has dishonored his office andshown he doesn't deserve the publics support, not to mention his staff and the city workers. - Reply to this comment

- I've had a couple friends wives come on to me before and it's not a very comfortable position to be put in. I won't do it to a friend, but if I don't know you and your wife is coming on to me, she's getting banged if she's even halfway decent looking.

- Why is it all about the guy? Do you think the woman is completely innocent? Is she a "victim"? I expect elected leaders to represent the citizens and not be totally corrupt like most of them are these days. I could care less about their personal lives, you'll find some of the greatest men in history had a mistress on the side. Get over it already.

Why is society so concerned about the personal affairs of others...

Possibly because, to some of us anyway, infidelity is a sign of poor character and we believe that better should be expected from our elected leaders.

I don't know about that. There are many who would contend that you are accusing the wrong coast.... - Reply to this comment
- Why is society so concerned about the personal affairs of others.... Why should constituents raise concern or even interest in who the mayor is sleeping with as long as he's performing his official duties to the highest standards? In short, sounds like a personal concern for those personally involved. Needless to say, infidelity of our forefathers is a historical norm.
