Senator's Comments On Democratic Rival Overshadow Entry Into Presidential Race
- Dogstain,, It's about honor, truth, actually supporting the troops instead of just mouthing the words,, It's about showing a democracy that other nations will look up too once again,, It's about National Security & The Lives of Our Great Troops... It's about teaching your children not to lie like thier President -- HONOR

- j-whitman... I don't mind mopping up the floor with liberals - it's kind of fun... but I would think it an insult to liberals to have you counted among them - while I find many liberals misguided & genuinely UnAmerican - you sir, are simply stupid - and I choose to ignore what you have to say.

- dogsout, I risk blind condemnation for asking this, but are you really sure that Powell and Rice were hired on their merits and not because they were black? Could they possible be the best black candidates for the job? Not the best candidates but the best black candidates?
I ask because I have lived through 40 years of preferrential hiring and quotas and affirmative action and minority outreach programs where the best black candidate was chosen regardles of better qualified white candidates also available. Haven't you been living in the same country I have for the past 40 years, and hasn't this made some impression on the way you understand that things work here? Just wondering? - Reply to this comment
- ...and although I think it's somewhat inaccurate to label me a neocon - I don't mind so much... after all - YOU were the one whining about how wrong it is for me to categorize people as liberals, not me... and yet you're perfectly comfortable doing the exact same thing - the exact same thing... so go right ahead, call me a neocon - just don't get all sassy when I call you a liberal...

- Painting Republicans as bible-thumping evangelical Christian zealots is assuredly part of the liberal strategy... and while that group does vote Republican - if for no other reason on the issues of abortion & gay marriage, it's far from the dominating influence liberals paint it out to be... As for a powerful 3rd party - while that may seem like a good idea on the surface, you have to dig deeper into the actual implications therein - historically, a strong 3rd party does not bode very well in a democracy - why? It tends to align the focus of the political parties towards making sure the other two parties split eachother such that they win - i.e. if the majority of Americans have their vote split by two semi similar party platforms, the minority party wins the election - sort of like a much bigger version of what happened with Ralph Nader & Perot.

- Dog,
If you don't consider yourself a neo-con, then why even use those words, why not instead say. "As a conservative, I believe...."
No, you didn't catch me doing anything, your just like a lot of other neo-cons, when you get called on for what you say, you try to put the blame on somebody else for misinterpreting what you, yourself said. I stand by what I said, you are a neo-con. - Reply to this comment
- Dogdong,,, Your liberal bashing spew, gave us the worse President in World History, an unwinnable war on Islam, Disruption of the entire Middle East & Near East regions, "Grave Damage" to our National Security, and a weakened military that can no longer respond to other crises.

- I agree holmes... and although j-whitman does his best to bury opposing views by throwing out many individual mindless tantrums - if you look, I did note how I understand how black people would get upset about this, like when Chris Rock said that calling a black man articulate is not a compliment, that's something you say about a retarded person who can talk. Look at Powell, Rice, Clarence Thomas, & other Republican backed minorities - whether or not you agree with their views, it's clear that they were hired or appointed first & foremost on the basis of their abilities - liberals do exactly the opposite & in fact, will often bring into the question a person's "blackness" when they hold differing views...

I know I should leave well enough alone, but I want to point out something here. I was once a Republican, then the party went radically right, and took on a religious fervor dominated by unbending, Bible thumping Christians. Unfortunately, the Democrats have went so far left, that I can't and could never identify with them, either. Its high time that the American public established a third party that was somewhere in the middle. If a candidate was to run for President on his qualifications, and his past work ethic, and not his right or left-wing extremist beliefs, neither the Repubs, or the Demos would stand a chance. The majority of the American people are fed up with both sides. - Reply to this comment
