- I said cults and religion can be. I can give you as many examples as you have time to read to back up the contention.

Amen, cults and religion to me anyway are both the same thing and they have caused more death, pain and destruction throughout history then all other causes combined. With their holy wars, purges, persecutions, pogroms an inquisitions they have slaughtered people by the hundreds of millions, all in the name of one god or another.
Wake up! There is NO god. Never was! It was all a way for some people to try to control other people's lives and it always, every last time, proved disastrous. No matter how you phrase it, attempting to stop a woman's choice to have an abortion is you shoving your religious beliefs down her throat and all of societies too and you do NOT have that right in this secular nation! Never did and never will. - Reply to this comment

I did not say that you are detremental to society and will not accept you misrepresenting my words.

- You don't know the regret and depression it can bring for the rest of one's life.

I can accept that being the case for someone who regrets their decision. But that does not mean that others should not have the same right to decide for themselves as you apparently did.
This is a personal decion for every person in their given circumstance. You can not justify extrapolating your circumstance to every other person in the country who might have to face this decision.
No one made the decision for you and you don't have the right to make it for anyone else, either. - Reply to this comment
- So, atheists are the supreme form of intellect and we should all dump our "programming" and shut up? There's room for all of us here - my opinion. Why do you claim such higher ground saying I am detrimental to society? Your own words just compassed around you and you are trapped by your own admission that your kind are the moral or authority and no other views are valid. You can't have it both ways remember. Bye.

- I'll ask again:

You admit that back-alley abortions are not acceptable. Yet you wish to make legal, clinical abortions a thing of the past.
You can't have it both ways.
There is a glaring cause and effect relationship here. - Reply to this comment
- What people decide to do with their lives are out of my control. I am only a person who fights -peacefully- for the rights of those who can not fight for their own. We all make mistakes and get into trouble over our heads at times. Taking the easy way out is not always the best way. You don't know the regret and depression it can bring for the rest of one's life. A temporary leave of personal responsibility is one's own choice but it leaves deep scars. Though at the time it all seems like the only way to salvage your reputation, job, marriage, whatever. It boils down to selfishness. We are all selfish, but when our love for self requires the death of another it is tragic. So the whole debate here is tragic.

- I am not paranoid. I do, however, recognize the dangers of cults and religions and their detremental effects on society as a whole.
