- In wartime "security trumps liberty". I want our government to take all and any steps necessary to protect the lifes of all Americans......... and after the war is over.... just like in the other wars that this nation has had to fight..... these security measures should be relaxed.

- Go check your local mental health facilities. There you will find thousands of people EXACTLY like ole' dubya, the man is a menace to society, our way of life, and the dreams of every man, woman, & child in America and the free world as it is today. He seriously needs to get on some good meds to get this taken care along with good sound Adlerian therapy so he can get himself grounded back into reality. He heard the PEOPLE of the United States polls say we, the people who pay his salary, to announce a start date of troop withdrawl & a projected end to a totally hopeless cause, and what does he do??? The EXACT opposite!!! He probably has a serious organic brain disorder that is spirling him into a world of total oblivion and he's dragging us along with him for the ride.

- Bush announced his illegal spying in a vain attempt to forestall new controversy over his warrantless searches. By declaring his practice publicly, Bush hopes none will complain.
Like the old Arab saying about the "camel's nose in the tent", Bush's confessed violations follow a progressively more flagrant and intrusive pattern. His rationale for illegal domestic spying changes from (1) surveillance of foreign nationals in calls originating abroad to (2) surveillance of American traffic linked with a foreign number (3) recording conversations of chief figures in the Democratic Party to (4) opening US mail pursuant to a Bush investigation.
Stay tuned for further confessions-- if Bush thinks he can suspend the rule of law by some specious theory-- however convenient-- of presidential disclaimer (Joseph Addington), he plays very near to the turf Nixon once occupied. - Reply to this comment
- The defense budget passed last year. If Congress tries to withhold funds from dumbya's "surge" he'd divert money for minor items like armor to pay for his AS SHOLE surge, and shriek "they don't support the troops." If coward-in-chief had stopped partying to serve in Vietnam, he might realize that saving troops from Iraq's civil war is more supportive than Snow's "death toll is just a number."
The US has no office with his claimed powers. Trying to seize powers not granted under our laws and Constitution is treason. Our Constitutional government has been a model for over 200 yrs. The document was crafted as to prevent megalomaniacs/sociopaths seizing its control and behaving as monarchs or dictators. Our Constitution has served "We the People" well. If choosing between it and the current executive. We opt in favor of the Constitution, Mr. Bush. Here, Sir, we have no master but the rule of law, and need none. By steathily assaulting the Constitution that you twice swore to preserve, protect and defend, you are proven unworthy for the office. Assurances that your unlawful and/or Unconstitutional domestic spying and other programs are requisite to the nation's security are worthless from such as you. The far greater threat, than any terrorist's, to the security of this nation is you, sir. You resignation would be the unselfish, patriotic act of your presidency. Thus, it is not expected. - Reply to this comment
