Best wishes to the Ford's during this trying time. It has been a tough year for the University of Michigan Football family as they have lost two of their greatest figures. Bo and Mr. Ford are putting together the plans for beating OSU next year. He was a good man and he will be missed.

It was amazing to listen to such jerks as Tom Brokaw and others that totally called Ford a fool and worse back in the late 70's now saying how good of a President he was .For those to young to know this was when the media learned it could and did influence the election to get Jimmy Carter and the DNC put into power . Without the media Carter very well may never have been elected ,which would have been a good thing .This is when the major media outlets went into bed with the DNC .

The only bad thing I can think of in regards to Gerald Ford is that he was a terrible golfer.

God Speed Mr. President

President Ford was such a gracious man. My family and I have always had a deep respect for this past president and his wife, Betty. My sincere condolences go out to his family...it's a sad time for them and the nation.

RandalDS,

You were very lucky to have met him. I was a young boy when he was president, but old enough to realize that he was a great president and great leader. He did what he had to do for the best interest of America.

It's sad: He was the last pure, bipartisan president we've had and if he ran today, he would not even win the nomination of his party. We could use more like him.

God bless you, Mr. President and God bless the Ford family.

I believe President Ford was a great man and made some of the hardest decisions in the recent years of our country's history. Pardoning Nixon was the best choice and the country was able to move forward because of it. He broke the country out of a self-defeating pattern of vindictiveness. In those years upon taking the presidency, the Dow Jones was at 667, down from 1000 just 2 years ealier. Confidence returned to the market and the economy was ressucitated. Ford was percieved as a baffoon and an object of satire by Chevy Chase in Saturday Night Live often. The reality is that Gerald Ford was far ahead of his time and live a life filled with vision and wisdom. He was an easy target for pop-culture attacks, but most effective people are. After all, pop-culture does not advocate personal effectiveness. The POP icons are defiant of the establishment. Gerald Ford gave the USA its finest hour. It's strange he was not elected, but teaches us that those who can give our country great things don't get elected.

A message to Deathtoallah. You should PRACTICE what you preach. You folks in the Religious Reich have no room to complain. NONE at all. With a name like yours the bigotry you and the rest of the Hood and Sheet Crowd practice is obvious to all.

I was a young child when Ford was president and therefore can not judge what type of leader he was. I wish his family the best in dealing with thier loss.
