Vietnam Vet Known For Iraq War Criticism Is Running Against Hoyer
- Bushrocks,
You haven't learned have you. Pity. You really should learn not to call americans names, "belly-licking liberal nutjobs" like your macaca friend Allen. Cost you the senate. Hope your brain evolves. - Reply to this comment

- A short history of John Murtha%u2019s service to this country:
1952 %u2013 joins Marines, then becomes drill instructor, then goes through OCS.
After active duty joins the Reserves. 1959- Volunteers for duty in Vietnam, serves as battalion staff officer in S-2 intelligence. Decorated with Bronze star with Valor device, 2 Purple Hearts, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and the Navy Distinguished Service Medal.
Let us contrast that record with that of Fearless Leader, Darth Cheney and his Roveness, who were so eager to be brave with the blood of our sons and daughters in the military. Hmmmmm. Not much there to compare, is there?
This is the man who was among the first to ask the hard questions about the disaster in Iraq. While I have some reservations about someone who has been in our dysfunctional political system for a number of years, I cannot ignore the fact that here is a man who knows all too well the fundamental nature and costs of war. Here is a man who knows that war is a last resort and should not be started on lies and distortion.
For these reasons, I%u2019m willing to give Mr. Murtha a chance to turn our situation around both here and abroad. - Reply to this comment
- jn122736 and houser write with wisdom, reacting to
the likes of janeymcgreev & shutupmurtha. Most
folks contribute with commentary because they've
derived what they feel is a different perspective,
and want to share, to have others consider and be
persuaded by such views.
Others have a desperate need to draw attention to themselves, and never having achieved maturity, resort to insulting, childish, and even bullying tactics. It must never occur to this type their approach is self-defeating. Not only do they fail to impress and persuade anyone, they bring upon themselves rejection and even pity -- but
not the acceptance, respect, and admiration they never learned to earn.
Sooner or later, they'll become weary of being
ignored, and stop wasting our time. - Reply to this comment
- bushrocks1-psychotic conspiracy theories about halliburton? what's wrong with you, anyway? you think it is so farfetched that bush dragged us into iraq to better his dad and make money for his oil baron friends? either you are naive or so party blind it makes you stupid enough to believe the spin this administration puts on everything.

- I love it. Now the belly-licking liberal nutjobs are all for intelligent discussion... You can't say fascist about anybody but the President. Psychotic conspiracies of Halliburton and oil companies are a think of the past. Everything is civil again. Right. The only person I've seen in politics who has been civil is President Bush, through insults, vulgar comments and anything-goes assaults. Now Democrats have the upper hand and that is suppposed to end? No. No. Now the fun begins... Murtha is a traitor. Murtha kills American soldiers in the field. Murtha sabotages a national effort for his political ends. He uses his military service as a cover for gaining advancement in the party of appeasers.

Thank you for your assesment of Ms. JaneyMcGreev. Her and the person calling him/herself Shutup Murtha, do not deserve a responce. They are so full of anger. To say that Murtha has no plan is utterly riduculous. He is the man that started this entire redeployment (not cut and run) debate.
Thanks for you insight. Keep up the great work. - Reply to this comment
- There are several reasons people sometimes use foul-mouth, bitter, and antagonistic words, including but not limited to%u2026.
1. Momentary anger: Usually short-lived.
2. Characteristic behavior: Aimed at anybody, especially at safe distances from immediate physical response, (such as this comment section).
3. Ulterior motives: Trying to disrupt useful debate. Divert attention from facts. Change the subject, or whatever.
As long as they can entice a response they are being successful.
Posters like JaneyMcgreev, as just one example, are obvious because they use the same approach all over this site.
The best answer in most cases is no response at all.
Even a child will stop screaming when he/she realizes no one is listening. - Reply to this comment
