Let us focus on getting our America back on it's feet and out of Iraq before we start deciding who the next president will be.

Better keep your eyes on this one he was investigated for the Iran Contra affair and is a long time friend of the Bush's.If the democratic party is smart they will stonewall his confiirmation until the new congress takes office.Pelosi played it smart today by neither endorsing or rejecting him just welcoming Rumsfields firing which the Bush admin has tried to craft as a resignation. The house and senate may belong to the democrats but their are alot of investigations that need to take place. Why did Bush want to and ask for a batlle plan for Iraq 11 days into his first term?Who produced the fake Nigeria report of Iraq purchasing uranium? Why after 9/11 did Bush tell terrorist czar Richard Clarke in front of four of his collegues and Clarke refused to pin it on Saddam? This war has been rotten from the begining which was evident by Powells initial remarks before he was pistol whipped by the Bush admin. and had to testify falsely in front of the U.N.Bush will go down in history as America's worst president since Nixon probaly after he ends his remaining term.

Former CIA-yep, it fits! Next we will see Ollie North back in play. These people are so predictable-swap one spook for another one. Sharp! Clinton-Obama '08 or Obama-Clinton '08-either one sounds better than potty-mouth [aka Cheney]- CIA drone [insert any Bush family friend]. Rock on, Dixie Chicks!

I'm afraid that Rumsfeld and the administration have screwed Iuraq up so bad that there are no longer any good options.

Hmm, Donald Fauntleroy Duck for President. I want to know more about his foreign policy before I vote for him. I mean yeah, he's served in the military, and I can respect that, AND he's traveled the world extensively so we know he has some knowledge of world events.

I dunno, though. He does come from a moneyed family, his uncle (Scrooge) is incredibly well off. I'd hate to think he bought his way into the White House. He'll definitely have a big war chest for campaigning, that's for sure.

Obama. Meh. Seems like a decent guy, but I'll wait on giving him the Presidency for now. I'll also wait on Hillary, for that matter.

And ncolsens, Reagan was able to walk away from the Iran-Contra scandal unscathed, but let's not forget that in his '87 address to the nation he admitted that he was involved in the Iran trade of arms for hostages. People may love the man, but as a world politician, he had his dark moments.

Oliver North "was indicted on sixteen felony counts and on May 4, 1989, he was convicted of three: accepting an illegal gratuity, aiding and abetting in the obstruction of a congressional inquiry, and destruction of documents (by his secretary, Fawn Hall, on his instructions)."

The conviction was overturned - interestingly enough with the help of the bane of Republicans everywhere, the ACLU - due to the belief that his public testimony prejudiced the trial proceedings.

Hmm, and guess where Ollie showed up in October of this year? Nicaragua! "Visiting friends" he says. Nothing to do with Noriega on the verge of winning the Presidency I'm sure.
