Comments on: Group Of GIs Mocks Kerry Remarks
Holding Sign Saying: 'Halp us Jon Carry – We R stuck hear n Irak'
- Love the sign, but I'm still perplexed as to why military families blindly support the current administration? It seems they should be p*ssed at Bush for sending soldiers to die for lies about "terror" threats in Iraq. Why are we defending people who carelessly place our sons and daughters in harm's way? Things might be different if this were a real threat (i.e., North Korea). We can put a nice label on Iraq, "freedom fighting" would be one, but it's still people dying for little cause, including plenty of innocents on the other side with families who now have a real reason to terrorize. Republicans like to spin discontent as "cut and run," but isn't it really "measure twice, cut once" (i.e., think before acting)? Sure beats the trigger happy "shoot and ask questions later" policy. But with that, I guess big oil has their interests protected and there's plenty of high-dollar military contracts to go around, but I'm sure this war against "terror" has nothing to do with that? So coming back to intelligence, it just seems scary that about half of this country actually trusts their government, believes what they are told (i.e., stay the course), and continues to wave the flag. Since the military doesn't have the option of questioning authority, it's up to the rest of us to make sure they shouldn't have to by voting for honorable officials. In case you haven't been following the news, that discludes the traitors Bush, Rove, and Rummie, who have sold out the brave military.

- Kerry should have added, "and you will be killed in Iraq." The truth might hurt the President, and we all know that Kerry was not trying to insult the military. But our military is MOSTLY made up of young kids who did not have an opportunity to go to college, and have had little choice but to go into the military. Look at the list of the dead. They are overwhelmingly young enlisted personnel. Kerry flubbed the joke, no doubt, but he was telling the truth.

- WV,
So well said.
John F. Kerry, the cross between Freddie Munster and Glenn Frey (of the Eagles) BUT without brains or decency (he MIGHT have had some courage...)is the best gift the Democratic Party can give both the Republicans and our Armed Forces.
He knows he DID THE WRONG THING back in '71.But has never had the cojones or the intelligence to acknowledge it. Just blast our military, vote down appropriations, except in the case of the famous "I voted for the..but then I voted against it...or I voted for it". Or going to make nice like Peanut Coward and Bigot to enemies of America. Yet the Neo-Nazi Democratic Party chose to nominate the guy - and to retain perverts like Studds and Frank, (not to mention Slick Willy) and Bigots like Byrd and Carter. The Dems will never have the guts nor intellectual courage to oust the garbage.
And neither will John Kerry ever have the intellectual courage or guts. God Bless those soldiers. They nailed the s*cker. - Reply to this comment

"I would like to thank John Kerry on behalf of all Republicans and Americans who support our precious troops, for showing once again his true color(s) yellow.
Perhaps John, Teresa, their daughters, and her son would like a lift on the Black Hawk Helicopter my twenty-something year-old, brilliantly educated, Officer Cousin, flies in Iraq on behalf of freedom for all. It's not exactly your chauffer driven Range Rover and it is pretty dinged up so maybe not.
BTW, you may creatively enhance your military service --but the medals my educated father wore on his Marine Corps dress blues, were earned and real and heavy and quite daunting and impressive when you held one in your hand. It is about the quality and color of the metal, the brilliance of the ribbon, and the care that is taken designing the Navy Cross, or that purple one. They represent the brilliance, courage and beauty of the men who fight for all of us. He was laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery. A plot of land you, John Kerry, had you become president probably would have "rearranged" so your daughter could have horses at the white house.
You scare me. (Or as you would believe the military translation to be; (u skare mee)."
I am behind you 100% well stated

getreal you didn't say anything about bush and cheney. Don't you think they should ask for forgiveness- Reply to this comment
- John Kerry has been using the same joke at multiple democratic functions, so it should be easy to tell what the original joke wording was if the media would repost one of those. Here is the link to Kerry's COMPLETE speech refuting the BS: http://video.johnkerry.com/video/flash/103106_pressc_2.html
Also, for those of you castigating Kerry for his bad joke, when will Bush apologize for the one at the end of this video: http://movies.crooksandliars.com/WhoShouldApologize.mov - Reply to this comment
- He never should have apologized.

- Look, what Kerry said to a group of college kids was factual. It was common sense, something our pols seem to have little of. His remarks were intended for the students to finish school, simple and true as that. Not for a moment did he cast any doubt on the patriotism or intelligence of our military forces. He supports them as I do.
I am a veteran, an independent voter, and took no offense to his remarks. Anyone that did is simply using the political factor. It was a statement of truth, many of our troops did not have the advantage to get a college education. It does not make them less intelligent or less patriotic.
Wow, I am amazed at the people who took offense.
Save your anger for real issues of which, there are so many. - Reply to this comment
- Kerry needs to know that he is a soldier to, but he put him self down. he need to be ashamed of him self. Never in my life I want Kerry run for anything that he does not like our troops. We need to follow the war we get in and get out. Kerry is a *** to the his party and the only thing is funny is that kerry looks like a *** and running to the news bus and saying " I got a Joke wait up." That the only thing he as.

- Our troops and their families absolutely deserve an apology. See if you can figure out who owes them one.
1. For asking them to lay down their lives for a lie and continuing to lie when those lies were exposed.
2. For pretending to support and care about the troops while you underpay, under man, under equip, and ask them to do a job that you did not train them to do.
3. For pretending to care about them while simultaneously cutting funding for their healthcare when they get injured.
4. For bungling the planning and execution of the war/reconstruction and asking them to lay down their lives playing referee in a civil war.
5. For using this war as an opportunity to enrich yourselves and your friends with corrupt no-bid contracts and sending cronies to oversee the rebuilding.
6. For listening to pundits instead of the experts who told you that this would go exactly the way it has.
7. For pretending to know or even care what offends the troops.
8. For telling the troops they're coming home and keeping them there and or repeatedly sending them back.
It's time for you "bumper-sticker patriots" to challenge yourselves by looking deeper than the slogans and sound-bites and really start being concerned about what's happening to our troops. - Reply to this comment

- I hate Bush as much as any Democrat but Kerry's mouth is bigger than his brain sometimes. His ego gets in the way of what is best for the party. Nancy Pelosi, the next majority leader!
