He probably rolled in the email hay with the best of 'em. Does anyone know what's on HIS computer? What a crock -- no wonder the Amercian people are cynical, roll their eyes, and sigh.

Read Drudge. Seems IM may not be what Dems and MSM were hoping (not praying) they would be.

Popeface,

Let's get this straight. There are a half a dozen or so people now saying that they told Hastert, and he had no responsibility to do anything about it? And Dems are making a big deal about the obvious cover up of pedophelia because they have "nothing else to offer?" How tired is this worn out talking point of the lock step right. When y9ou were trying to dismantle Soecial Security there were no fewer than a half dozen alternate bills offered by Dems but you voted them down and just kept repeating "no new ideas," "now new ideas," "no new ideas." You people are truely hysterical. You act like a bunch of zomby, clones, completely void of any ability for original thought. Are you in the least bit capable of stepping out of the party line?

This whole episode stinks like a Democratic set up, along with a willing big media.

With a few more weeks prior to the election, I predict there will be more such follies planned. Remember the pre election sudden drunkdrivingBushreport ? gasp !

While we are paying huge taxes, and the Democrats promise more...Let's look into the Kennedy Family Trust in Tahiti . How is this for a CBS promo . " Senator Kennedy Mum on Family Trust - a Tahiti Tax Dodge ? Time to settle up with the IRS ? Watch the .. CBS Evening News report .." Just dreaming.... will never happen.

tejasdemo, lol...... The republicans are scary in what way? Because they murder fetuses, encourage masturbation in young children, are for homosexual marriage, want to collaborate with the Islamonazis, want to raise taxes, want the government to govern every aspect of your life, because their presidents have sexual relations with interns and lie about and get impeached, because they want to supress your right to free speech and censor tv shows they dont agree with, because dictators like Hugo Chavez and Akmedenhajad support their cause.....Oh wait that is the DEMOCRATS.

Oh yes, let's blame the Democrats for Mark Foley --- that's a laugh.... you can't blame them for ANYTHING that has happened in the last 6 years; they don't have the White House, or either house of Congress. On the GOP watch, the economy is now in huge deficit, this country is in a war that can't possibly be won and has been, to be charitable, ineptly prosecuted. We have a Speaker of the House who is a nice man but in way over his head, to say nothing of the President, who could't put two consecutive coherent sentences together without a staplegun. Your time is up, GOP...

POPEface, LOL.
I'm sure that if the roles were reversed the Republicans would be as quiet as church mice.

WOW, what a ridiculous weak attempt by the democrats to avoid talking about the issues that really matter...lol. WHY BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOTHING TO OFFER THE AMERICAN PEOPLE BESIDES CRITICISM. This story is ridiculous...lol, the guy who sent these messages quit and the dems are still bloodthirsty...lol. This is perhaps the first *** scandal without the ***...lol. I GARUNTEE IF THE DEMOCRATS KEEP PRESSING FOR MORE INVESTIGATIONS...LOL, it is going to come back to bite them hard!! Undoubtedly the democrats kept this info underground for more than three years...and that is illegal. SOME DEMOCRATIC STRATEGISTS ARE URGING THE DEMOCRATS TO NOT OVER PLAY THEIR HAND..... THEY ARE SAYING TO QUIT WHILE THEY ARE AHEAD.

Yea, that's a good one. No TV, No cable, Not even internet(library - no trail). Not even a republican just very very disillusioned with what the Democrats have become.

I feel bad for Hastert, but let's face facts; he is nothing but a bagman, first for Delay, and now for the White House. If the GOP was smart, they would make him ambassador to Lebanon or something, and find someone else who had an ounce of leadership skills to take over the House until they all get swept out in 5 weeks. I'm no Pelosi fan, but she would never have allowed such a thing to take place. It's time to back up the truck, and send the Republicans packing.

I read an editoral in the the New York Times that the Congressman that is in charge of the pages told Foley to stop and it was basically dropped. Then magically Mr. Foley contributed 100,000$ to the campaign of the Congressman in charge of the pages.

Why don't they just abolish the page program anyway. Do any regular kids get into it or is it all just Senator's and Reps kids.

Hastert's staying put (truth be told, its hard for the big fella to actually move around) is the best thing that could happen to the Democrats. Let's give him a round of applause for being so remarkably impressive at saying or doing the wrong thing at exactly the right time.

1. Hastert and some Republican leaders apparently knew about Foley and didn't prevent him from running again, apparently because it was considered a "safe seat" and they didn't want to risk That's the real issue here.

2. Believe me, at this point, plenty of Republicans want Hastert out, and plenty of Democrats hope he's stay. Did I mention that I am one of them? Yes, i did. But he's going to stay, because the Bush White House's stategy is never never never admit anything, never give up, never step down. Usually it takes an indictment (at the very least) to get a Republican to resign these days. Mark Foley is the rare exception.

I think keeping Hastert is going to backfire. Some conservative Christians will vote to keep Hastert as speaker of the house, but not all.

So I applaud his courage. Hee hee.

Not nearly as scary as having the foreign policy of this country in the hands of the Democrats.
