I am strongly against Bush's war in Iraq. But I do agree with this post of mlsbas:

"In the matter of Mr. Foley and his current "scandal," it is important for us all to slow down and allow the investigation to proceed.

"Each of us is entitled to due process, and Mr. Foley is no exception. If the reports publicized over the past 48 hours are determined to be true, then the process will move forward and Mr. Foley will incur negative consequences.

I am neither excusing nor defending anyone, but ask people to remember the system under which we live."

"It is a happy circumstance in human affairs that evils which are not cured in one way will cure themselves in some other."
Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Sinclair, 1791

"As a regular and proud violator of the law myself, I was shocked and disgusted that others had also proudly ignored and violated the law."
The Republican Party

Wolves in sheep's clothing have been leading the poor little flock of sheep for a long time. You've been making your bed in it....now lie in it.

well I believe what goes around comes around what you do in this world will come back to you, if you do good people will do good to you and always the response is several times over. It is the same way as a group, community, and country. Yes believe it or not that's how nature reacts. Remember when Republican Party hunted Clinton for his lies? Well now they are been hunted with lies after lies sometimes it feels it will never end. Remember Rush on the radio how he ridiculed the drug users I even remember saying one time they should lock them up and throw away the keys, then his secrets as a drug junkie came to light, and wasn't Foley the one responsible for law against pedophiles now he may be prosecuted with same law.
I remember once Gandhi say to an American reporter," I like your Jesus but I don't like your Christians" after all Gandhi was not a Christian but still he believed in "amongst you whoever is without sin cast the first stone"
The point here is what ever you say you must practice

Do folks understand why teachers who get caught in 'relations' with their students are fired? Even if this wasn't illegal (which apparently it is, according to federal child protection laws passed this year by Pres. Bush), it's profoundly unethical and immoral. It's an abuse of power, just as is Hastert, Boehner, Reynolds and Kirkland's coverup. Particularly since this situation involves elected public officials, who are (rightfully) held to higher standards than us regular folk. They did wrong by the American people, and should resign immediately (and yes, applause to Kirkland for already having done so).

Tarquinius2, just this year President Bush (with Mark Foley standing behind him) signed the Adam Walsh Child Protection Safety Act of 2006, making it a federal crime to solicit *** from a minor, defined in that law as anyone under the age of 18. By the definition of federal law cosponsored by Mark Foley himself, it looks like yes, what he did was illegal.

And frankly, even if it wasn't illegal, it was immoral, as was Hastert, Boehner, Reynolds and Kirkland's behavior in trying to cover it up rather than do the right thing.

So much for the apologists of the "Party of Family Values", it seems they reserve all the moral outrage for those of the other party, and when it comes to their own, it's all about spinning it any way they can to make it seem like nothing happened, or that it wasn't illegal, or that it's because Foley's an alcoholic, etc. Talk about lacking a moral compass!
