Secretary Of State Challenges Ex-President's Record On Fighting Terror
- BEN-VENISTE: Isn't it a fact, Dr. Rice, that the August 6 PDB warned against possible attacks in this country? And I ask you whether you recall the title of that PDB?
RICE: I believe the title was, "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States."

- It's time to stop blaming which President did not do what. When we make our Presidents look bad, others take advantage and misrepresent our Country. I would like to know which President starting from Washington, did not make a mistake!
But, I do think that President Clinton has taken enough! He was one of the BEST.

- What I love about the "neocons" and their allies is the connect they try to make between the War on Terrorism and the "mess in Iraq". Saddam could not even fly a plane in his own country due to our "no-fly" zones on September 11, 2001. He was NOT a threat to this nation! The "mess in Iraq" has diverted military resources and money from the true enemy, Al-Qaeda, and stirred up the hornet's nest of the Middle East. This nation is not more "secure" from the threat of terrorism because of the "mess in Iraq".

- What everyone seems to ignore is that September 11, 2001, was almost nine months into Bush's presidency, so it happened on his watch, not Clinton's. I only ask that my President do three things: 1. act like a president; 2. make me feel optimistic; and 3. make me feel safe. Reagan, Clinton and Bush the Senior did that for me. The idiot in the oval office now does not make me feel optimistic or safe, and with his politics of fear and distraction, along with his quest for world domination through his own terrorist acts, he does not act like a president either. He is more like a dictator. One cannot spread democracy through murder and occupation. I fear what we will find out about this administration once they are out of office.

- In response to the gentleman who claims we are in the Middle East because of OIL. NO, we are not in the Middle East because of OIL, we were attacked on 9/11 by terrorist who wanted to kill us all, how can you forget that. We all know that Bush was mis-informed about Iraq's "WEAPONS OF MASS-DISTRUCTION", had Clinton been in office he would have been given the same information. Bush did what he thought was best for our country, a vote was taken and it was agreed on by the majority, even Democrat's. This has been a tough war and will continue to be. Backing down now and pulling out is not in ours or their best interest.

- At least Rice was using a bipartisan report on both administrations as the basis for her arguments (it's called the 9/11 report...I suggest those in doubt read it), not a book written by a partisan hack who didn't get the job he wanted within the Bush Administration and who also wanted to cover his own backside (i.e. Richard Clarke).

- Yea, but if you don't deal with the hornet's nest it gets HUGE. I know I just found one in my front yard under a juniper tree. It's massive.

- Where was Ms. Rice on September 11, 2001? She was going to give a speech about the Russian missle threat. Richard Clarke's book told the truth about the "worse President in the history of the United States" and his incompetent hacks, such as Ms. Rice. They were fixated on Iraq from January 20, 2001. My father predicted not only the "mess in Iraq" but that terrorism would increase as a result of Iraq. When you stick your hand in a hornet's nest, expect to be stung! The worse President in the history of the United States and his minions, including Ms. Rice, should be thrown out of office for the harm they have brought to this great nation!

- Well, I don't know if Clinton or Rice are lying. But it is obvious thath Chris Wallace is a lying. In the latest lie Wallace said he asked President Clinton "did he connect the dots". Sorry, what he actually asked was "why didn't you connect the dots". There is a world of difference in those questions. The actual question asked WAS an impication that the dots were not connected, while the falsehood Wallace claims to have asked is not. Sorry, Chris Wallace, the actual question asked was well documented. And they say the liberals control the media?

- What a farce all this is is to create a distraction form the recent intelligence report. Blame Clinton and bury the reports on the findings that the current policy has turned a bad situation into something far worse that will have negative implications for generations to come.

- All I can tell you is that Clinton is goin' to say what he knows and did. Due to the fact that he will have know consequence/backlash because he is not running for a public office. So I believe what the man says. I can't trust Miss Rice at all, because all she does is "pimp" the administration so she doesn't get any flack from her boss.Kind of reminds me of a tee shirt. When Clinton lied no one died. Isn't that the truth.

- NewsJeff? There is no connection between Saddam and Al-Quaeda. Never was. But the people you think should get a "pass" on their failure to secure this country have constantly been attempting to link the two.
Given this level of dishonesty (not honest mistake or misstep or error but blatant lies and dishonesty) we can't trust them.
Your forgive and forget won't work with these people in office. They have shown they have no interest in our safety. - Reply to this comment
- Some facts
1. Bin Laden Determined to Attack USA using airplanes:
Bush and his cronies says that was vague, OK. At least he could have increased airport security all over US.
2.on 9/11 - Planes were hijacked at 8:20a.m and it played out till 10:30 . By 9:05 it was certain for administration(After earlier warning) then that this is a terrorist attack. What did they do. Bush was still reading or peeing on his pants when he was notified. INACTION. He could have at least called his situation room and see what is happening.
I work as production support and if paged I do not respond in 20 minutes My job is gone. I am fired.
3. KATRINA : Bush is the last person in this country to know that the levy's are bust. Why is he always ignorant of the most important facts affecting you and me. Is it because he has other pressing needs. Like exercise and biking
4. Iraq: was never a present danger. Now it is.
5. Pakistan: The hotbed of terrorist, Safe Haven for all.. But they are still an ally and democracy there. Now aiding Taliban using US money and weapons.
6. 17 terrorist from Saudi Arabia attack US on 9/11 .. They are still an ally and no democracy there.
I am stupid. I do not understand. Can someone explain. - Reply to this comment
- The only thing Bubba Bush ever did in regards to the Bin Ladens was to see to it that they safely escaped this country the day after 9/11. Nobody else could fly on that day.
